Jerry Jones to Goodell: Kraft is a P$$$Y Compared to what I will do to you

You can hate that Jerrah d1ck all you want (I know I do), but you have to admire his balls. Wish Kraft had half the balls Jerrah is putting on display. Kraft IS a *****.
I agree, but Jerruh also need to know when to keep his mouth shut. He gains nothing by calling Kraft a pu**y, regardless of how accurate that may or may not be.

Everyone crying about Kraft and how they will never forgive him, yeah he took his punishment and backed down from Goodell for the good of the league and himself but how many people here have short memories?

Without Kraft there is no franchise and no Brady.

this would be the view without bob kraft:

last ditch effort......obviously this is shaping up to be a Kraft/status quo majority vs a jerry/minority blow it up faction......the battle is about over, jerry is fishing for a little more support to keep him afloat, so he's talking tough, throwing a shot over the Kraft/majority bow

the skills to do the job: look smarmy on camera, talk out of your ass, do what the owners want, take the brunt of the hate with a smile, don't rock the boat unless told to, take your paycheck and don't kill any hookers, do what's best for the League, er, the owners

Goodell has done this fairly well......and he has obviously represented the 32 fairly well

Jones is pissy because his guy finally got the same treatment he advocated for others (very much including the Patriots), and he's throwing a hissy fit.......Jones is the type of guy that expects special treatment from HIS guy......there's a difference there, albeit a small one.....

An allegation that Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston groped an Uber driver in March 2016 is reportedly being investigated by the NFL.

Talal Ansari of BuzzFeed News reported on Friday that the driver received a letter from NFL special counsel for investigations Lisa Friel informing her that the league has heard about the allegations and “opened an investigation into this matter.”

Report: NFL investigating Jameis Winston for allegedly groping an Uber driver

Well, we'll see how Tampa's ownership feels after today, because the NFL now apparently thinks it's NFLCIS.

Everything you said, I pretty much agree with.

Still, I will cheer Jerry on because Goodell is a terrible Commissioner and an even worse human being. I'm no fan of JJ, but in this I will root for him to win.

and Goodell can play the majority against the minority, so he doesn't have to representthe 32 and it's obvious the 32 don't get too detailed when it doesn't involve their team.

see, i won't

because we both know the commish of this league is just the guy the owners put out there to be the face and the target.....they control everything, even the NFLPA.....

what i see here is a battle between the majority group, led by Kraft, and the minority group, led by JJ

JJ loses, yeah we still have Goodell to kick around.......but it means Kraft is at the top of the heap of 32........maybe that was his plan all along, maybe that is why he played the public piece the way he did?

Jones is one of the most insufferable owners in all of sports and is a completely incompetent at his job in terms of putting together a team that can actually win. But sure, start jumping on his **** because he's sticking it to mean old Goodell even though it was HE who led the charge against Brady!

The entire article is really fascinating to me, no one except Deus Irae has really commented on that. That said, it acknowledges contributions from Chris Mortensen so it's more probable than not that 11 out of 12 paragraphs contain incorrect information.

But here are the key things I picked up on:

- Most owners think Goodell is screwing up big time, and the decreased TV viewership is a huge deal.

- Despite the fact that Goodell got booted from the 2011 union negotiations at the end, the owners are crediting him with their major win there because he was able to unite ownership in their demands and process, and he is still doing a good job on that front

- Goodell's extension is solely to ensure he's there for the 2021 union negotiations; they will be happy to toss him overboard after that. Owners also feel that if Goodell is tossed before union negotiations, the leverage goes straight to the players union - that they would expect concessions as a sign of good faith from ownership towards working with the new guy.

- Most owners think the league office has gotten too bloated and has too much power, and they believe it's very dysfunctional.

- Part of the problem is, either intentionally or unintentionally, Goodell hasn't found someone to groom as a successor the way Tagliabue did with him

- Ownership feels if they boot Goodell now, due to the above, it will create major disturbances and therefore they don't think it's worth it to change now. Never underestimate the power of inertia (I've also learned this in my consulting day job).
Nevertheless, one owner actually reached out to Adam Silver (NBA Commish) to hypothetically see if he was interested (response was apparently hypothetical laughter), and they've also put feelers out to International Olympic Committee members. But due to all the factors above, really unlikely anything will happen.

- Goodell himself knows all this, including the successor issue. He's pissed that he's being asked to take a pay cut despite having grown revenues in the past (good thing he's not a publically traded company CEO where compensation is all "what have you done for me lately?") and taking bullets for the owners. And because of the successor issue, he believes he has all the leverage in negotiations - and most owners seem to agree.

- That said, Goodell isn't enjoying the job anymore and doesn't really want to stick around long term. Being the stubborn guy he is though, he won't leave the job under these circumstances. He wants to draw as much money out as he can and stick around through the 2021 union negotiations, and is willing to work on a successor plan afterwards.

- Goodell is becoming more independent of ownership - part of the bloated league office, his dissatisfaction with his job, and the leverage he has. The union has noticed and is actually happier dealing with him now than in the past.

I think Tagliabue would have handled things very differently, thus the Commish does have influence on how things get handled and the way the NFL works with the media.

Goodell wants to be part of the story and his ego gets in the way. Add to that he has the charisma of a tape worm. If there is a way to do things and a way not to do things, Goodell with go about it the wrong way 95% of the time.

Situations don't get better when he is involved, they tend to get worse (at least the public parts). His only attribute (for the owners) is his willingness to sell any story they want.

Tags did handle things very differently. Towards the end of his tenure, he worked with the NFLPA instead of trying to destroy it via the CBA, he kept most discipline on the down-low, and wasn't repeatedly caught lying under oath.

I think Tagliabue had more backbone than Goodell and that is why the owners found a stooge in Goodell to replace him. Goodell has been here primarily as a figurehead for the owners.

Seriously WTF is wrong with everyone???? Who gropes anyone, let alone an Uber driver? was she so hot that you couldn't resist? Senators, would be Senators, Presidents, Quarterbacks, you would think that these people have better things to do than go around groping people, but NO, that doesn't seem to be the case.

The majority group is led by John Mara and to a lesser degree these days the Rooneys.

It wasn't Kraft whispering in Goodell's ear to suspend Elliott.....

I don’t believe anything the media reports these days unless there is proof as in the Al Frankeinstein case. There are just too many allegations coming out at the same time. I’m sure some are legit, some are not.

I think Jerrah was trying not to just call Kraft what he is, a ****ing ****y. Jerrah has no balls to really tell it like it is.
