Our Story: Built on Passion and Community

PatsFans.com emerged from a deep love for the Patriots and a desire to keep a dedicated community alive.

"I started a fan site back in 1997, which unexpectedly led to an opportunity to cover the team for a dot-com startup," said Logue. "It was exciting, but it was also tough. I worked a full-time job five days a week and dedicated my two days off, plus every evening, to covering the team at the stadium and writing as a credentialed media member. When that startup abruptly closed after three years, it was incredibly disappointing. My biggest fear was losing the connections I had built with fans from all over."

This fear became the driving force behind PatsFans.com.

"I was determined to build something lasting, something that wouldn't be taken away again," Logue explains. "With the crucial help of a friend – who had been instrumental in my initial startup opportunity and had expertise in forum software – I built my own site. He helped me recreate our forum, allowing me to invite everyone over before the previous platform shut down. I'm incredibly grateful to him; without his programming knowledge, PatsFans.com wouldn't exist today. He was also an amazing person, and I'm lucky to have had that relationship with him."

Early on, Bob George, a Massachusetts native who had his own site, BosSports.net, writing about the various local Boston teams, joined Logue. George had previously written commentary alongside Logue for the dot-com company.

"He's terrific," Logue notes. "His personality-driven, opinionated writing perfectly complemented my more fact-based style."

He was the first of many talented individuals who have contributed to PatsFans.com, making it one of the last remaining independent, non-media owned Patriots sites after more than 25 years.

PatsFans.com was also fortunate enough to have New England Patriots legend Steve Grogan as a weekly contributor for more than a decade, with Independent Journalist R.R. Marshall putting together "Grogan's Grade," as the former QB brought in-depth analysis and perspective throughout multiple title runs, along with during some unbelievable memorable moments over that span.

A Knowledgeable & Passionate Community

The best part about PatsFans.com is its impressive community.

The community, which includes thousands of registered members, inspired the contuation of Logue's efforts after the online start-up where it was born shut down, and over 25-years later, it's still thriving.

"I don't know if I would have started another website, had it not been for our community," said Logue. "It's different when you have people relying on you and people you've developed relationships with. I was pretty down when all of that happened and it was a challenging time, personally. I was more or less ready to walk away and find a different hobby. But so many of them reached out, which was really the reason why I found the energy to start over and keep it going. I really don't know if I would have had it not been for them."

That same community continues to be the driving force of what makes PatsFans.com such a special place.

"I made my first ever trip to Gillette Stadium thanks to a member on the board who supported me back when I just had a fan page in 1997," said Logue. "It's been an unbelievable run, but there have also been some challenging times. And again, it's the people on our forum who continue to be the ones who help me push through. They're incredible, and I'm extremely fortunate to have met and become friends with so many amazing people."

"They're what makes this place what it is. I just do my best to try and keep making it a little better and not mess it up."
