Report: Browns and 1st rounder for Garappollo (Maybe Yes or No or Who Knows)EDIT

Anyone bringing Hoyer into this discussion as a positive is a total honk and isn't worth talking to.

I'm glad Tommy isn't having a temper tantrum anymore. It was worth selling the future and getting jack **** in return.
You're just acting like Borges because you use his picture as your avatar, right?

lol at everyone who's like oh yeah Belichick playing 5 dimensional chess, the 36th pick or whatever and Brian Hoyer is obviously superior to the 4th overall

I sincerely doubt this is real, unless Belichick really was incredibly pissed that Kraft forced his hand and decided to burn the house down (he didn't, he's not coaching elsewhere next year)

Lol, okay. So anyone who sees that a high 2nd plus a backup who knows the system in the middle of a Super Bowl-caliber season is a “honk”... because it’s much more sensible to go with a high 1st (which has no value THIS season) and no backup QB at all!

Please point me in the direction of “Tommy’s temper tantrum.” I also ask that you explain how Garoppolo was “the future” when NE wouldn’t have been able to afford him after this year anyway. I await your explanations for these opinions.

If Hoyer needs to play, they aren't winning the Super Bowl anyways. Sign Shaun Hill or something. Same difference.

If this is real, there's no justification. So it's either not real or unjustifiable.

Big difference, IMO.

Furthermore, as others have said - at the time of the trade SF had one win and Houston had Watson healthy and were playing like a playoff team. So at that time it looked a lot more like Houston’s pick would be in the 20s and SF’s would be in the early 30s. How’s Bill supposed to know how it all ends up working out?

Beyond that... I don’t think he would ever send Jimmy to Cleveland. That’s like rewarding a guy who did a lot for your organization with an assignment in Antarctica.

Haven't read this whole thread so sorry if this has been covered but ...

What kind of contract would a number 4 pick get?

Just the Browns excusing their normal stupidity. Everyone knows that any good thoughts the Browns have are afterthoughts!

About $28 million fully guaranteed over 4 years, plus a hefty fifth year option that varies by position but would probably be in the $12-15 million range as long as it’s not a QB ($20M+).

BB, knowing how special Jimmy is, sent him as far away from this organization as possible. Out of this division, out of this conference, and all the way to the other side of the country.

If Brady was gone for the year, sure.

But not if he was gone for a few games. Hoyer gives them way more chance of winning a couple of games than a street free agent would if Brady had to miss, say, 4 games with injury.

He even gives them more chance to win those 2-3 games than JB would have. Because he can actually process multiple reads.

Who gives a **** what Cleveland now post-fact with all the hindsight in the world claims to have offered. It didn't happen so there is no point to talk about hypothetical..

Report: Browns would have given Houston’s first for Garoppolo

At least according to this report, pats could have gotten the 4th overall pick.

Oh hoyer is way better than brisset. It’s not even debatable.

I think Sup has it right, the Texans pick looked to be in the 20’s and SF looked like it would be low 30’s. Although the difference ended up being much greater the perceived difference was worth getting Garrapolo out of the AFC and away from free agency.

Lots of mental gymnastics here to justify missing out on the 4th overall pick, if this report is true.
