These WRs core of NE and Browns is comparable ( at least on the paper ) but the difference is who throws them ball to. With all due respect for Mayfield one good season does not make him a proven QB especially in playoffs ( if Browns somehow get them ).

Without Gordon I give the WR edge to the Browns. With Gordon, probably to the Patriots. Just WR, though, passing game and offense I give the definite edge to the Patriots even without Gordon, with Brady, McDaniels, etc.

We just don’t know. I get that it’s nice to discuss but s*it happens. Remember last year we had Matthews and some other guy that got cut? Then we ended up short at the position. It’s anyone’s guess. When it all falls together like we expect is when it works out best because it means we have obvious talent. That doesn’t happen that often. Certainly not this season. Preseason heroes always get cut.

Playing in the slot does not = WR. TEs are also slot receivers. You are taking a comment in an article and turning it into something it’s not.

In any event his size, speed, agility, measurables and experience are all TE.

I will have the last word because to you it's black and white when it isn't.

LaCosse sometimes lines up on the line. That makes him a TE for that play.

Other times LaCosse lines up as the A, H or in the slot, thus making him a slot receiver.

If you want to lable him a TE, fine but that is not his only position in the offense.

If JE11 lines up as X, Harris Z, LaCosse in the slot and Watson Y, and one RB whats the personnel grouping?

Christ, Thomas and Gordon might not even play. Also, you saying Gronk sucked last year and is easy to replace does a supremely talented and effective player a massive disservice. Did you see how effective he was in the run game down the stretch?

If you cant see that a hobbled Gronk being gone isnt a major issue and also that this team always has a plan and figures it out than you are either a major chicken little, trolling, or you have not been paying attention for the past 17 years or so.

Anyone who even hints that Hogan being gone is even a minor issue needs their head examined. And Gronk will be replaced by 3 other tight ends and many other weapons that the team has picked up.

Also, As mentioned you stating that it will be "easy" to game plan against a BB team with JMD as OC and TB as QB is laughable.

White is also in the RB room but his biggest impact comes on plays in the passing game. I think @robertweathers put it nicely.. in many ways all of it has evolved to the point where parts are so interchangeable that they are almost positionless. The same can be said on defense with how our DBs are often used for traditional LB work.

My point is that it matters less what the positional title of a player is and more where he can be used. And if LaCosse ends up playing a lot out of the slot as essentially a big WR then this is one role that doesn't need extra depth from the group of WR.

He surely isn’t a wr.
A TE sized player with average TE type receiving skills who doesn’t block well isn’t a WR. I have no clue where you are coming up with that idea.

None of his measurable are WR level he has never played WR abs his production as a TE isn’t even decent receiving TE level.

Curious if you have watched any of his film from last season or just basing your opinion off of stats because imo he is definitely a better than average pass catching TE. He started last season low on the depth chart and moved up because of injuries ( including Sanders) and made the best of it. Most of his targets came in the second half of the season and getting the most during the last two weeks.

I can't comment on his blocking ability because I haven't watched for that yet although I've read multiple times that it his weakness.

I’m not. No one knows if or when Gordon will be available and Thomas is coming off a serious injury. Hopefully they can pick up a WR this summer, or one will rise out of the back end of the roster.
