That Marvin Jones YAC clip may be the most concerning thing I’ve seen about last night postgame.

That looks like a play in a college game between a power 5 conference team vs. FCS. What type of effort is that?

We can’t continue to roll Shelton out in the 3 man fronts. 4 or 5 man fronts are different. Sure he can take on two blockers, he’s also getting pushed back way too easily when that happens.

Good effort by Brown but it was still a very ugly rep. By the time he gets his arm on Blount, he's already driven back 3-4 yards off the ball. And he wasn't doubled either. Needs to do a better job anchoring.

I mean this is the kind of evening it was. Mason who is an elite run blocker gets blown up by Dunkin RJF on a big third down.

We can talk about missing talent and draft picks all we want but if players can't even get their fundamentals correct then none of this stuff matters.

I mentioned this in the GDT. Mason came off really high, soft and slow.

That play shows why I think it might be worthwhile to explore moving Hightower down to DE so long as it doesn't mean increased playing time for Elolandon Roberts. He isn't having any issues shedding or fighting through blocks. His issues are in lateral pursuit and sealing off the edge. Move him down to DE where his coverage responsibilities are limited and let him get after it.

That's an interesting idea. 4-2 with KVN and Bentley.

Hopefully Flowers and Chung are good to go next week.

Without A22 access this snap looks well defended in general with Bentley really showing his potential. We need more of this and fewer plays where 8 defenders try to get one player down. If Bentley is for real and we find some kind of front where Shelton and Brown can have an impact (or at least are less of a liability) there is still room for this defense to turn it around.

Also curious how Dawson will look once he gets activated. Might be exactly what the defensive backs need.

It's not shown in the clip, but in live viewing I noticed that Bentley seems to casually stroll along the back of the DL before the snap, shoulders perpendicular to the LoS with his eyes on the backfield, not Wilson. Almost a fake blitz action, like hae was about to dive through a gap at the snap.

Immediately after the snap, he picked up Wilson with a trail technique. Stafford apparently lost track of Bentley.

Looks like Brown and whomever was to his left were both doubled and KVN was nullified by TE, though the RT was there as well.

Looks like a variation of the diamond front we've ran in the past except KVN is where HT was. It's secondary to the way we're getting manhandled though.

May have to bring someone else in. I dunno. I’m not too optimistic at the thought of an underwhelming VV being brought up.
