For the first time since 2008, former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will not be taking part in training camp in Foxborough this week.
Edelman, of course, retired from the NFL back in April after 12 NFL seasons with the Patriots.
Despite no longer playing football, Edelman showed off he misses the game a little still with his latest social media posting this week.
Over his Instagram account, Edelman shared a photo from a past training camp along with the following message for young players beginning their NFL journey’s as camps open around the league.
“This is where you find out who you are, as an individual but more importantly as a team. Learn from every rep, manage expectations, and control what you can control. #TrainingCamp2021”, Edelman wrote.
With Edelman no longer in the fold for 2021 and beyond, the Patriots take another step forward into the future with a completely revamped receiver core for presumed starting quarterback Cam Newton.
So who will become “the next Edelman”? We’re about to find out.
