DRAFT NFL Draft Rumors

Have no picks until 96. Pass. They need number 46 for CB (providing Gilmore is traded why would Atlanta want Gilmore? They don’t have any cap space), or a legit #1 WR

Just don’t see it happening. The price is to high to move up.
The price is only high if it is the 4th pick. 7,8,9 or 10 is the opposite

Patriots aren’t this transparent in their leaks.
I don’t see them trading to 4 for Fields
I mean, if you get to 4, don’t you take Pitts ? Forget « who we picked up ». If you have a guy who’s possibly the highest rated TE in the draft era...

If we had a need at TE and an established qb in place. If not a qb the only spot I see a move up would be for horn or surtain to get ahead of Dallas and Philly.

I mean it would be the most stacked Tight end room in the history of ever, I would only do that if I could get Mond or Mills later on.

Pitts is going to ATL, IMO. Who in God’s name isn’t sold on Sewell? That way, I can automatically discount their opinions in the future.
My understanding is Sewells technique isnt the greatest, he sat out a year so will be rusty/football not being the number one thing in his life?, and he wins by being bigger and stronger then everyone else which might not be true at the NFL level. All of that said 350 pound men who have moves like a ballerina are as rare as franchise QBs so when you find one draft his ***.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Lions tried to trade up to the fourth pick in the NFL Draft in pursuit of LSU's Ja'Marr Chase.

The Falcons' asking price for the fourth pick was too high, according to Fowler. This would confirm that the Bengals -- picking fifth -- will likely select Chase in Thursday's first round. Lions general manager Brad Holmes could still draft a high-end wide receiver prospect with the seventh pick -- perhaps Jaylen Waddle or DeVonta Smith. Any first round wideout who lands in Detroit would instantly become the team's No. 1 receiver and could fall into massive target volume with little competition for looks.

If the 49ers moved up to draft Mac Jones, a player who would have fallen to them had they stayed in their previous position, that tells you what you need to know about Jimmy G. The Patriots should stay away from Jimmy G. Pass.
I'm in the opinion that they heard that Jets were keeping Darnold and going Chase or Pitts and they thought Zach Wilson would be there at 3.

I feel we are about to make/initiate something massive...

I feel the exact opposite. I think if they do anything, they will trade down. It’s what Belichick does.

You also have no idea what another team might offer for him, so once again, this isn't a fact it is an uneducated guess.

Looking at past history of belichick drafts in very, very misleading. We haven't draft for a starting QB under Belichick.

IMHO, Shanahan/Lynch don’t have time to “develop” a QB. Mac is allegedly the most pro-ready QB, at least currently. Mac is also the prototype QB that Shanny is accustomed to operating with. He’s in that Ryan, Cousins, JG mold of QB; which to be fair, has taken him (or he’s taken them lol) to the SB twice. Additionally, in that division, they don’t exactly have the luxury of time on their side.
I think jones being called most pro ready is just a euphemism for he isn’t mobile and hopefully adapts to bring a pro pocket passer.
Other than Lance I think jones is the furthest of the top 5 to step in and play well. His only experience is having tons of time to throw and receivers that could dominate the guy covering them.
It’s like asking a point guard to go from the dream team to an average nba roster.

Even if NE hadn’t had a need - would you regret a Gronk pic.

This is awesome. I would be so excited if we land him. I think most Pats would considering the circumstances. Plus it would be a huge moment for this team.
I just remembered you're a big proponent of his. Definitely would be awesome.

I'd be more excited if we first traded quarterbacks with SF, after a Jimmy
contract revision.

Not sure how you can assume that to be true...

I’d rather grab the elite qb and build around him than surrounding an awesome wr/TE with mediocre qb play (see: Megatron, Fitzgerald). Especially if we have to move a bunch of future picks for that guy.

All of this tells me the Patriots are not going to overpay... They'll trade up for a QB they like if the cost is acceptable, but won't overpay. They'll trade for Garoppolo if the cost is acceptable, but won't overpay. They'll wait and draft Mond or Trask later if neither happens.

Yes is he going to SF after the Carolina trade? Thinking Carolina thought he'd be available but got word SF is taking Lance?

Fields or Lance would be one of the best things to happen to this team.

I wouldn't mind Jimmy for 13 million if SF eats a good chunk. Not my first choice but I wouldn't be mad.
