Just from this one segment alone, I absolutely love this kid. Sounds like exactly the type of person you want to see succeed in life. Even if the Patriots don’t select him, I’ll be rooting for him to make it big (except against the Pats of course).

Looking at past history of belichick drafts in very, very misleading. We haven't draft for a starting QB under Belichick.

I think jones being called most pro ready is just a euphemism for he isn’t mobile and hopefully adapts to bring a pro pocket passer.
Other than Lance I think jones is the furthest of the top 5 to step in and play well. His only experience is having tons of time to throw and receivers that could dominate the guy covering them.
It’s like asking a point guard to go from the dream team to an average nba roster.

edit: this kid has an amazing story. His mom fleed war-torn Liberia after his grandparents and other family members were burned alive. Came to Providence and attended Bishop Hendricken and then got a scholarship to UM.

I like Fields & Lance and I'd trade up for either. I don't feel like Jones is worth it. I like him but is he really that much better than Trask? You can get Trask in the 3rd potentially.

I still have a feeling that it's just negotiation via the media regarding Garoppolo. SF is still holding out for a high pick and Bill, at this point, is basically saying "listen, if you aren't gonna budge, I'm just gonna trade up and take a better QB than him and you won't get jack ****."

I think the interest in Fields is real, but the fact that everyone suddenly knows it tells me it's also a message. It could also potentially be a smokescreen for Lance, hyping Fields to get someone else to take him and letting Lance slide.

Tbh - maybe they are targeting Lance. The fact that all of these leaks suddenly came out the last few days saying SF suddenly is "50/50 between Jones and Lance" could mean that SF knows Bill likes Lance and is essentially threatening to take him so he better trade for Jimmy!!!!

Depends on if Garoppolo wants to go there - he has a no trade clause. They also paid Fitzpatrick and Heinicke this offseason. Plus the financial part.

They have about $12 mil in cap space according to Over The Cap. Can they even afford him?
