You never know what a player's future performance will be.
Edelman's already said he's not 100% NOW.

Since the #4WR and #5WR have averaged a TOTAL of one catch a game, I think that six is totally unnecessary. The only reason that we need 5 is that more than one of the receivers will be coming back from an injury.
I think you guys are sleeping on Patterson. He's going to be the 'stretch the field' guy that we haven't truly had since Moss. Not saying he's of Moss's caliber, but I am saying Patterson is fast and a jump ball threat, whereas Cooks was only fast.
Quick review:

My rankings:
X - Patterson, Hogan, Decker, Britt
Z - Edelman, Dorsett, Berrios
In the first games, you might see Patterson and Decker starting, with Dorsett in the slot. Then when Edelman comes back, Patterson and Hogan start sharing time at the split end position.
I don't think Britt makes it. From what I saw of him last year, he's slow and over the hill.
I think the final cut comes down to Decker vs Berrios. Perhaps both make it out of camp since Edelman is suspended, and then Berrios goes to practice squad after that. However, if Berrios shows that he can truly hang with the big boys, I'd move him up and be forced to cut Decker or Dorsett. Or just maybe, there are unforeseen things (like another injury at WR), and they need to keep everyone.
1. Cooks was a big time stretch the field guy so I dont get the CP is the 1st since Moss. I am not sure CP and Moss should ever be in the same sentence in fact.
2. How do you have CP starting over Chris Hogan? That is not right.
3. Britt and Last year is not nearly enough sample size. How could he have known the playbook at all? Recently Britt was the standout WR in passing camp and is rehabbing right now. Lets see if he did indeed get his mojo back from a couple of years ago before we start talking about "last year"
lol
Meh, Mitchell was always overrated IMO. Apparently he had great intangibles, but I never saw much on the field.Whoever can pick up the cerebral side of the offense, hopefully also has something dynamic. This could get exciting if Patterson can learn now and later produce but I am much more holding my breath for Edelman, Hogan and Gronk remaining healthy than expecting a pleasant surprise from this group. Sad WR prospectus with MM gone today and DA in MIA.
He had one really good game, where we don’t win if he isn’t on the field. That game and his 6-7 catches occurring during a huge deficit were huge. Otherwise, I agree with you. I don’t really see how he was that different than say, Kenbrell Thompkins, who had similar numbers but certainly wasn’t anything special. With Mitchell, his legend grew after the SB performance.Meh, Mitchell was always overrated IMO. Apparently he had great intangibles, but I never saw much on the field.

Oh boy.. If what you wrote comes anywhere close to your actual expectations and not just wishful thinking I think you might be in for some big disappointments.
There are so man little things wrong at various parts of your post but what makes me most speechless is that you keep using Moss as a comparison to a player that has had essentially zero success outside gadget and trick plays (or ST) and has bounced around the league with not much interest despite intriguing physical traits. Just consider who you are comparing CP to and think whether this should give you pause.
I mean if he is such an amazing talent why was nobody able to harness that potential so far ?
And please dont respond back with that BB quote that says we will make you the player you should be because that actually never happened and was entirely made up:
CP has a pattern of looking good in practice and camp but then less so in games. You might end up being right and all he needed was the right system, role and an elite QB throwing him the ball but given history I think it is more likely that as most players with his number of years in the league he simply is what he is.
Great athlete, not good football player.
I'm comparing type, not caliber. I know Patterson has underperformed per his athleticism, so I guess we'll see.
Dorsett dropped over Berrios? SheeeeeedEdelman
Hogan
Britt
Berrios
Patterson
Dorsett plays first four games then gets cut to make room for Edelman.
Let’s see this pre season. Lot can change.Dorsett dropped over Berrios? Sheeeeeed

I think that Edelman talking last week about Berrios’ nickname in a weird way is a good sign. You don’t name a pet you are about to put down.
You are more hopeful about a 6th round pick who has never played a snap in the NFL than a guy who has been a sold 3-4th WR his whole career and is a HOF KO return guy to boot?
Why?
you know, at this point in Brady's career I really don't give a shyt what the receiver corps looks like. If they have NFL talent then they'll get open in this offense, and I think we can agree that there's solid NFL talent on this roster. Plus...Gronk.
