Who would be your preferred top 5 receivers to make the team (from the current roster).

From the "you never know" file:

FWIW, Hogan and Dorsett had multiple drops today as well.

Everyone’s in love with Patterson on this board. I honestly don’t know what the guy can bring offensively. He has a hard time getting separation. We need to hope edelman goes back to being the same explosive player or that a guy like Dorsett or britt step up big time.

Count me as more hopeful about Berrios than Patterson.

Patriots love Britt, so he's probably there

I know there’s been a lot of back and forth on who we all THINK Belichick will keep wide receiver wise on his final 53, but which receivers would you prefer as your final 5 (not including Slater, just pure receivers).

I am hoping these 5 are the final 5.

Hogan
Edelman
Dorsett
Patterson
Decker

I think that’s a good mix of receivers that are also versatile (some can play outside or slot, some can be return men, Patterson can even run from the backfield).

I think we carry one of Berrios or McCarron for the 4 games Edelman is out, and then try to sneak him on to the PS.

Britt

we go 6

I think that Edelman talking last week about Berrios’ nickname in a weird way is a good sign. You don’t name a pet you are about to put down.

Edelman makes friends and tough catches, he doesn't make personnel decisions.

Completely different player types who'd have completely different roles.
True, but for some, they are competing for one of the two bottom positions. Any choice would have advantages and disadvantages.

For me, we are pretty close to closure with Edelman, Hogan, Dorsett, Patterson plus Britt or Decker.

Since the #4WR and #5WR have averaged a TOTAL of one catch a game, I think that six is totally unnecessary. The only reason that we need 5 is that more than one of the receivers will be coming back from an injury.

Still a possibility that one of Berrios or McCarron sticks for the duration of Edelman's suspension. Might be slightly better chances of sneaking the guy through waivers and onto the PSquad after week-4 than during final cuts.

To be fair, Edelman's not going to count week 1 so it will only be 5.

Oh, no! Belichick is watching I'm sure. Whoever I pick will get cut. They always do. So, I'll go with:

Chad Jackson
Chad Johnson (Ocho-Stinko)
Bethel Johnson
Sam Aiken
Joey Galloway
