I know there’s been a lot of back and forth on who we all THINK Belichick will keep wide receiver wise on his final 53, but which receivers would you prefer as your final 5 (not including Slater, just pure receivers).

I am hoping these 5 are the final 5.

Hogan
Edelman
Dorsett
Patterson
Decker

I think that’s a good mix of receivers that are also versatile (some can play outside or slot, some can be return men, Patterson can even run from the backfield).

I think we carry one of Berrios or McCarron for the 4 games Edelman is out, and then try to sneak him on to the PS.

Edelman
Hogan
Patterson
Decker
Britt or Dorsett, whomever clicks with TB12 better.

I'd love to see Berrios stick, but being assigned #55 for camp doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy about his chances. I know that's a Patriot thing (as opposed to Way), but that's my interpretation of the tea leaves.

Every single rookie was assigned a number in the 50s based on draft order. Don't read into it. That said, Berrios is probably in a numbers crunch, so I agree he's not likely to stick, but it's not going to have anything to do with the assigned number.

Everyone’s in love with Patterson on this board. I honestly don’t know what the guy can bring offensively. He has a hard time getting separation. We need to hope edelman goes back to being the same explosive player or that a guy like Dorsett or britt step up big time.

Whichever five work best with Brady and best fit the game plans for the season.

I could imagine a lot of receivers not named Hogan/JE being in the wrong spot a lot of the time, and Brady seemingly throwing passes to nobody/empty dirt. Probably worst case scenario.

Patterson will see 5-10 plays a game and nothing more. Hell they might even use him like an H-back.

JE
Hogs
Decker
Dorsett
Patterson
McCarron

I agree with the 5 in the OP. Throw Berrios in there for the first 4 games while 11 is out. Then whoever performs the worst the first month gets cut. It's an extended tryout. Although I doubt all of them make it the whole month without getting hurt just due to the nature of the NFL.

I had hoped for Mitchell but his departure does clear some things up.

Disagree. Patterson wont play every down but I think it will be more like 25-30 than 5-10. I think he gets 5-10 touches/targets a game.

My list:

Edelman (Suspended 4 games)
Hogan
Dorsett
Patterson
Britt
McCarron
Slater

Then after 4 weeks, we will decide between McCarron and Britt...depending on how much Britt is clicking with Brady and how well we have developed the other PR's (Chung? Burkhead? Etc..).

Also, I would try sneaking Berrios on the PS as well.

Agree. I really like Dorsett. And throw in Britt while Edelstein is banished.

Edelman, Hogan, Dorsett, Patterson, and literally anyone but Decker because I hate him and don't know why

I'm with you. For me it's his tendency of coming up small in big games.

It might end up being this way but I honestly think they will try to feature him early a lot. He can be a great smokes and mirrors chess piece if some early deep throws, trick plays or screens work out and get on tape.

Now he wont actually see the ball too often but between Paterson, Michel and Gronk they have now so many toys to manipulate coverages presnap into something they like that you can only get giddy thinking about it.
