Tough call, as much as I like Newton from my view he has lost a lot the past couple of years, getting tired the no TC BS we are being fed.. he cannot throw a short pass which has always been a fall back for our O.

Would like to see more of Stidham.. has he made enough progress??

When all said and done BB will probably find a Vet QB, keep on grooming Stidham and may use a 1st or second pick on a QB...

I could see Brissett as a placeholder for a draftee. I love Zach Wilson, but from what I’ve watched, I bet he’ll be a Top 10 pick...

You'd like to think that they'll go QB in Round 1 and support it with a vet, even if it's Cam (God forbid) for another year. I don't think that BB will go this route. I think he'll bring in Jimmy G and go with someone like Kellen Mond in Rd 3 or Brock Purdy later and coach them up, stringing Stidham along until he can afford to let him go. It seems that "Stid" is on the outs and it's just a matter of time until he is set free to live back in Texas.

Cam isn't a terrible option. The first year in a new system is usually followed by a more effective second season. Cam is also coming back from multiple injuries (foot, shoulder). His mechanics are terrible and he can miss easy checkdowns by a mile... but I wouldn't want to try to tackle him at the goal line and he has been pretty accurate 20+ yards down the field so the shoulder appears healed. He barely played the last two seasons, didn't get any preseason, caught COVID, and has the worst receiving corps I've seen in many years. And we're 5-6 and in most of the games at the end.

Worst case is someone else pays Cam more than we are willing and we get a 3rd round comp pick on the board. Which we might cancel out with a signing.

We are definitely drafting a QB. We are probably signing a veteran if Cam leaves too (Brissett?). A lot of people say Garoppollo, but he is under contract, so that depends on SF cutting ties. They might, but Brissett will be out there and likely more willing to take backup money knowing we are drafting a QB in the first round. If SF cuts Jimmy G. then he is far more attractive, because he wouldn't count towards the formula for the comp picks. Brissett is more durable. Garoppollo is more talented. Neither stops us from drafting a QB.

QBs fly off the board. I think NE's record will be too good to grab one of these guys (Trask for sure).

My gut says it's Cam again. Aside from that I would guess he swings a trade for a Stafford or Matt Ryan type player pending some sort of contract adjustments.

This is and was going to be a lost year the minute Brady left so I was resigned to the fact we would probably win 6-8 games this year. If we do this again with no QB for the future I will be annoyed.

I am thinking belichick would want to give cam the benefit of doubt and one full off season and the first 6 games for 2021. We either draft the top 3 qb or go full defense in draft with maybe a 3rd /4th round quarterback project to supplant stidham.

If we fail in 2021 then we go full bonkers in 2022 for the best quarterback in the draft.

I would have no issue if Bill fired a lot of bullets to move up in the draft to get the guy he likes. I mean if we don't spend the capital on that position than what are we doing?
