How EZ do you think it is to build a "Top Notch" OL, and
what exactly are "Adequate Weapons"?

How long until the Bears fans start calling for Caleb to be benched in favor of Bagent? This week?
The last good QB the Bears drafted was Jim McMan.

McCarthy was the most intriguing QB prospect of that draft, great arm talent, limited tape. I would absolutely have taken him where the Vikings did.

That being said last night didn't answer too many questions. JJ had 24 pass plays, threw a very bad pick 6. They Clearly limited him.
McCarthy had almost zero tight windows, his receivers were 4-5 yards open on many plays, 2-3 yards minimum on all but 2-3 Plays. He did have some nice throws, but even the nicest ones were not high-level difficulty.

I honestly thought he had a better chance at success then Caleb Williams who was 50-50 as a bust or not.
He landed in a perfect spot to develop. Great Offensive mind, with a very talented team around him. I have a hard time thinking he fails but where he peaks hard to tell. Never asked in college to carry the load and unlikely he will have to this year, at some point in his career he will and then we will know what he really is.

Some of JJs throws were into tight windows.

IIRC, his 2 pt conversion was a bullet into single tight coverage.

agree.

I’m hoping I wasn’t right when I wanted McCarthy over Maye.

Drake gotta figure this out now.
And McCarthy is younger than Drake and Drake played one extra season in NFL than McCarthy .

So excuses for being raw should stop . He better figure it out in next few games. You are drafted 3rd for a reason .

JJM might be good. We saw that ourselves in his 1:1 matchups against the Pats in camp.

Drake is raw though. McCarthy is more polished from playing on a far superior team than UNC in a pro-ready structured system under Harbaugh. He's closer to a finished product than Maye is.

No guarantee of course that Maye ever hits his ceiling. Again I hate to make this comparison but Zach Wilson was raw and he isn't going to hit his ceiling. His physical attributes are very much like Drake and he also had issues sailing throws and being picked.

You got me there. In my defense, I saw it, but I’m posting from work on my lunch break and was too lazy to go back and fix it.

But yeah, it was right there

You spelled Sid Luckman wrong.
Don't have to go back quite that far. Billy Wade was a good old school QB. Beat the mighty Giants for the title in 1963. I remember YA Tittle, helmet off, blood streaming down his face, as the Giants lost to the Bears on a frigid field in Chicago, 14-10.

Give Maye either of Chicago or Vikings weapons and he would be better than those assclowns
Not sure Maye would’ve survived 68 sacks last year. Only got sacked exactly half that and was already getting hurt. In Sun’s weather he’d be marginally better.

This can't be real. Right?

I went from… what a dooosh to… that guy’s f’ing awesome… committed to the bit and milked it like [insert inappropriate milking reference here - and there are many].
