No Gilmore, No Rowe at Practice (Weds) [wk 7 vs Atl injury reports & updates]

So, we just activate a 5th WR that would be inactive? If act, he would likely get ZERO reps. To accomplish this, we should cut a special teamer that actually plays on special teams, like Grissom, Bolden or Richards?

With regard to defensive backs, the 8th DB this week is Ebner. There MAY be someone on the Practice Squad more valuable than on of the special timers, but I doubt it. What's the point. I Suggest a practice player last week. Belichick chose to play special teamer Bademosi, who had played even one defensive snap so far. Was Belichick wrong, should he have cut a couple of special teamers to have a couple practice squad players who are very, very unlikely to more prepared than special teamers like Jones, Bademosi and Richards.

HOWEVER, Rowe or Gilmore is likely to be out for awhile, I can see us bringing up a defensive back and move Langi to some list. That can't hurt anything. But, I would expect the back to play much, if at all.

I feel like B.B. always goes really thin on DBs and WRs if their are injuries.

He won’t call anybody up from the PS.

Those 12 special team specialists are too important. Sigh

If BB is foolish enough to go with only three cornerbacks again, he may be forced to
used Amendola at cornerback if someone gets injured (shades of Troy Brown).

I have 0 confidence going into this game..I mean really none...so it can only get better from here.

Not having any CBs hurts against ATL

It won't be pretty and it sucks. I was hoping to finish 6-2 before the bye. Falcons will be desperate and probably still have the superbowl in their minds.

Personally, I predicted a rare 33-30 loss in the official contest thread, but I see no reason for some to be so pessimistic about our chances.

There's more than one way to win football games, and even if it's a shootout we still have a great offense. I do agree that there should be some concerns with the defense, particularly against a team that has the ability to both run/pass effectively, but I think that the Pats have a better than 50% chance to win the game. I don't get how so many people can be so down about it.

Even if they lose one of the next two games, we still go into the bye at 5-3.

And then, someone needs to be signed to play his position of special teams and dime back.
Why? There are enough stiffs on STs masquerading as DBs who can't play the position to save their lives.
Langi will be IRed, and somebody will be promoted from the PS. That somebody might as well be Ryan Lewis, because Trevor Reilly - the only "LB" on the PS - isn't going to help us, ever, and Lewis is being paid as if he's on the 53 anyway.

Maybe because they would be 1-3 at home. They have to play better at home.

Agreed, although they're playing great on the road, so it doesn't really matter if they go 5-3 or 4-4 at home or on the road. There's really no difference outside of how they play at Gillette in the month of January (hopefully).

So what's the over/under on the people saying these types of things also going postal if Amendola or Lewis gets hurt returning punts/kicks saying "why don't we have return specialists?!"

Last time I checked, the players I’m referring to (Slater, King, bolden, flowers, Ebner) serve no purpose other than ST.

Would you rather have Brandon Bolden on ST or a 4th effing Cornerback on a team with ****ty DB play?

Sorry, but I don’t think every decision B.B. makes is right. I think he falls in love with his unique ideas of doing things differently. Yes, I know he’s won 5 SBs and I wouldn’t trade him for anything, but I think his ego gets in the way sometimes.

Langi is fine. Belichick will just need to find another for McClellan (Harris) and eventually Valentine.

There is no problem activating Lewis, if belichick want him to be Active for the game. Otherwise, there is no point.

Buffalo & Miami both have superior - far superior - defenses than we do.
No they don't.
Miami allowed the same 20 we did to New Orleans and LOST. They allowed 20 to the jets that we allowed 17 to and LOST.
Sunday we can have a third comparison.
Otherwise they have played Tennessee with cassel at QB and the hapless chargers.
Had they played KC Houston and Carolina their stats would probably be worse than ours based on what they did vs the jets and saints

Id rather have bolden out there being good on 4th down than a 4th corner standing on thr sidelines watching the game.

He's not eligible yet. Practicing but not on roster. Think Denver.
I thought the day he could practice he was eligible but if they chose they could wait up to 4 weeks or something like that.
Didn't ray Lewis the week he returned to practice after he roided up to get healthy?
