I just hope Vereen/Dowling can get out there by game 4 and/or avoid the IR, tonight isn't all too crucial. They'll have way more opportunities next week anyways the starters should be in alot tonight.

I think it's a safe bet that we'll them in week 4. Maybe not a guarantee, but you'd assume that Belichick wants them to get a feel for NFL speed before the regular season starts. He probably wanted to make sure they're in shape before they hit the field so they don't get hurt again.
I read the same posts as you. Do you simply ASSUME that everyone but Dowling and Vareen traveled with the team? The article is about the two rooks who did not travel. Did Light? Did Wendell? Did Haynsworth? Did Spikes? I did not consider it unreasonable to to want to know who travled with the team. I guess that that the only plays that amtter to you are Vareen and Dowling.
It isn't speculation if Bedard has a source. Doesn't mean he's automatically right, but it isn't speculation if Bedard just reports what one of sources told him.
In any case, I think Reiss was way too optimisitic when he suggested some of these guys might play this week. They've only practiced for a few days after missing weeks of training camp. Knowing Belichick, it's more likely he'll let them sit another week than risk having them play unprepared.
I guess my 1st question would be for Bedard: Do you actually cover the Pats? To me thats embarrassing that a beat reporter has no clue whats going on with the team and he is quoting from league sources like who 'the bleacher report". The same goes for Chris Gasper I know BB runs a tight ship but this is ridiculous.
He may be right or wrong; you may agree or disagree.
However, Bedard seems to be the beat reporter spending the most time watching the details of the Patriots preseason. He charted every offense-defense one-on-one, he's meticulously gone over the roster. He's the Globe's new Reiss.
Thats too bad. I did some poking around Football Outsiders and in 2007 and 2008, the Titans we near the top of the league in ave yd per rush allowed on the offensive left side.
I attribute a majority of that success due to Haynesworth as he was featured as RDT.
