And then if they do, you'll say lets see if they can beat Arizona and then if they do you'll say lets see if they can beat....and on and on. The number of people on this supposedly "Pats fans" board who now root against them because Tompa Boy and Gronky got tired of playing for a meanie is hilarious.
As I've said earlier, get to 7-7 or better heading into the last two games at home then we can talk playoffs

I never asserted that they go 2-5. But there are 5 games that are not automatic wins and wouldn't be shocking losses.

No way the division is in reach.

Buffalo is 7-3. We aren't winning out. Buffalo needs to win 4 games to get to 11-5 and basically force us to win out to even have a shot tying them. Buffalo has games against the Chargers, 49'ers, Broncos to get to 10-6. So they need to pull one out against either us, Miami or Pittsburgh to get to 11-5 and pretty much clinch it.

As far as the post season. Right now we are 2 games behind Miami, Baltimore, Cleveland, Oakland, and Tennessee for the wildcard spots. Anything can happen, but we only play one of them. So really we are not in control of our own destiny. I would be shocked if any of the teams I mentioned can't go at least 9-7 to 10-6. So yeah I really think it's a prerequisite to guarantee a playoff spot
You said “The truth is this team is going to go 6-10 to maybe 8-8 if we play great” in the initial post I replied to which seems to assert you expect them to go 2-5. That’s why I started this conversation. I think you’re right that it’ll be tough certainly.

When you have 5 losses at this point, it is getting close to every week being a playoff game.
LOL, The Pats very likely aren't making the playoffs. But, they're also not going to suck forever as lots of people here and elsewhere want them to. And the people here who were fervently wishing and hoping and praying that they would fold like an accordian are feverishly sweating right now. F### them.

You don’t need to gatekeep when it’s OK to talk about playoff scenarios, man. It’s just theorizing and wishing mostly, I don’t think many people are sitting here fully expecting them to make it but it’s not completely unlikely either considering the tie breaking scenarios that exist.

The 3 straight away games is what will determine the fate of this team. Especially since they are likely going to spend 2 of the 3 weeks on the West Coast away from families. With what they showed tonight and what they showed against KC, I'm hopeful.

There you go again. You can't even admit that Sony's running last year was affected by the O-line. SMH.

We have no idea how Sony would be running behind THIS O-line with Onwenu at RT. Onwenu wasn't getting a lot of snaps the first two games. But he did that 3rd game.. And that's the one that had Onwenu at LG and Thuney at Center. And we saw what he did. But you pawn that off as an aberration and cling to last year as if it truly had any bearing in evaluating Sony.

Do you know what happens when you take out that 1 long Run of Sony's? He still has a YPC of 5. 25 carries for 125 yards.

Sony looked great the last time we saw him against Oakland, no idea if he'll be the same way health wise but that Sony could be a major asset to this team and keep Harris fresh.

Great win. I didn't think they had much of a chance. I still don't think they will make the playoffs but at least it's not totally out of the realms of possibility now. Really love harris. Love to see him get those extra yards so often. It's not just him running through big holes. He isn't just done as soon as he gets hit. Love it.

There's 7 games left on he schedule. We are 4 in 5. The reality is the range I gave is giving us the two most automatic wins to affording us about 3 very likely losses.

That's pretty sensible. It's very doubtful we run the table. I don't think that's even in the cards. It's somwhere in that 3 to 5 loss range.

The Pats have a lot of veteran players used to making the playoffs. Sometimes dynasties can collapse suddenly and dramatically - it looked like that down 10 to the Jets in the 4th. But they rallied and got a tough win this week too. The veterans on that team know how quickly seasons can change for good or bad. They are now focused on making the playoffs.

I think we should play them.

We are 2 games out of the division lead and play the team that is in first at home after we had them beat in their house and fumbled it away. There is no doubt they are focussed on that.

Something special about breaking out WR passing touchdowns to dagger Baltimore specifically. You know some guy in Maryland had a heart attack seeing that happen again
They thought they were safe from that with Edelman out.

away from families; so now Covid?

I'm not saying some of you are deadset on being downers but some of you have a bummer way of being happy.

Best win of the season and people are *****ing about not playing Damien Harris enough last year?

You guys suck.

Great win. I love beating the Ravens. As much as i'm enjoying this, it does not change my mind about this team in anyway. The Pats won 23-17. They missed a PAT so let's call it 24. One score required a Meyers dime and an insane Burkhead catch. Meyers may be a former HS QB but that play succeeding like it did in that coverage was a 20 to 1 shot at best. The pass needed to be absolutely perfect and it was.

The Ravens had massive unforced fumbles at key times which stopped drives or plays that would usually succeed. The Pats on the other hand managed to play a clean turnover game in these conditions. That doesn't usually happen even with good discipline and preparation.

The pats got breaks on close yardage situations and unforced penalties that gave our offense a massive boost. The Pats on the other hand committed 3 penalties for 18 yards.

Basically the Pats played an almost completely clean game and the Ravens shot themselves in the foot at several points. They also made a number of huge plays and made smart plays pretty much the entire time while the Ravens had a number of mental errors that had nothing to do with penalties. Drops, missing open passes, being late to certain spots. Not to mention needing to adjust to key injuries.

As much as I hate the Ravens and I'm glad we beat them today if we played 100 times we'd be lucky to win 30 of them. This game had nearly everything go our way and the Pats won by a single score when the Ravens had the ball late with a chance to come back multiple times. It was a heck of a game though.

Pats beat the Ravens and the Chiefs and Seattle was winnable. Pats have heart and can play with the top teams.need to get more passing targets.
Honestly should have beat jills and Denver too
