Of we do play Butler, Bademosi and Jones at CB, it might be the fastest trio we ever put back there. Now, if they can just get their hands on a ball or two.

That defense is going to get pulverized. All the Falcons want to do is pass and they will be able to do it at will Sunday, hopefully the offense can keep up.

Yeah only hope NE has of winning is Brady going off. He's certainly capable, yet a SB team shouldn't require a 40 year old to be superman every single game. It catches up to you eventually.

Technically no but welker, moss, Dillon, came that way and really the way we built those teams was by every means available so this isn't really that different.

Yeah, those worked out great and those players became keys to our success early on and throughout their carreers here. They also were spread out through the years though like Revis. It's been one big acquisition this offseason and the early success is yet to be seen. I hope it ends well.

Huh?
We didn't have a lot of turnover.
We added a wr
Replaced a RB
Replaced a backup Te
Replaced a corner
Had a draft.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

He wasn't superman the last 2 games and we won so what are you talking about?

I believe most of the defensive issues are related to the the front 7 having problems covering RB's and mobile QB'S out of the backfield. If they can figure that out the secondary will look much better.

If Branch can continue his upward trend that might help the LB' s. IOW if the D line can maintain control of the LOS the LB's may have an easier job controlling the RB's.

Atlanta will be a good test for the front 7. Regardless of what happens I'm still convinced that the Pats have an elite secondary and are just waiting for the front 7 to get their **** together which it looks like the they are.

Fwiw. We know Brady and crew are fully capable to win a shootout and they only need the defense to slow down Atlanta enough and I think they will.

I'm on the road this week so I can't post video support for that opinion. I'm not sure if the company will allow me to work this weekend but if they don't I will try to do so.

Huh? It happens quite often if it is bad enough. Do you remember when Stork was out for a long time due to a concussion?
Mike Wright as well.

You said the patriots have zero chance to beat Atlanta after
Miami and buffalo just did. That means you are saying they are far superior teams.
Far healthier teams on defense, they have better defenses which helped them beat Atlanta. Unless we win 56-52, we have no chance against that offense with a special team player as CB 2 and our 4th CB as CB 3. Also we don’t get the pressure Buffalo and Miami get on QBs. So Ryan will have plenty of time. Sets up for a very bad game for our D. Better front 7s and healthier DBs helped them beat Atlanta.

So now we are guaranteed to allow 50?
I know the patriots have never win with backups.

It's ok though. Your opinion is that the bills and Dolphins are far better teams than the patriots.
An offense that scores 17 against those 2 teams will score 52 against us.
Then next week we will face the chargers who put up 19 against the 85 bears, I mean Dolphins so you probably got them for 60 right?

Oh and
Buffalo 12 sacks
Miami. 12 sacks
Patriots. 14 sacks

And they sacked Ryan a combined 3 times for 9 yards. Wow what relentless pass rushing

Oh and both of those games were in Atlanta. So if the patriots were playing the bills or Dolphins this week what would you have them, 14 point underdogs? 20?

I better get the history books out with a red pen. I have to expunge any and all references to Earthwind Moreland from the annals of football record.

???

QUESTION 1
Will our Sunday night defense better than that of Buffalo and/or Miami? The answer is not clear to me.

QUESTION 2
How many points will Atlanta score.
======
The bottom line is that the patriots will need to score more, probably in the 30's at least.

I'd be comfortable playing Buffalo or Miami this week. Their QB's and receivers (including TE's and RB's) are no comparison to those of Atlanta.

Buffalo and Miami had enough defense to shut down Atlanta. I don't think that these defense would shut down our offense.

The poster is saying we have zero possible chance of beating the team, here, who lost at home the last 2 games to Buffalo and Miami. So clearly those teams are far superior to the Patriots and would drub them any time any where.

No chance? Not some chance...or less chance...but, no chance.

I dropped the Earthwind Moreland reference a second ago, but totally forgot the most recent mostly special teams player elevated to a bigger role...

Goes by the name Butler...probably has no chance in a game like the Super Bowl to do anything much less in a regular season home game.
