For the first time in over a year since his ACL injury, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman played in an NFL game this past Thursday against the Washington Redskins.
Although he didn’t record a reception, Edelman felt his effort was another step in the right direction towards full recovery.
“It was awesome, honestly,” Edelman told reporters postgame. “It’s another step in the process of trying to get healthy and playing real football. Going out and hitting guys and feeling bodies, it was just fun to be out there and experience the stadium, the crowd. I’m not saying you take those for granted, but it’s been a while since I’ve got to see them.”
“You are always trying to get your legs back under you,” Edelman said. “I think I am a week better than last week, so I am trying to go out there and get them a little more this week.”
On Instagram Sunday, Edelman shared a photograph of himself greeting his young daughter, Ella Rose after practice as a personal reminder of who he is working his way back for.
“My light at the end of the tunnel. #BaeAtWorkDay”
