No Gilmore, No Rowe at Practice (Weds) [wk 7 vs Atl injury reports & updates]

Concussion is a nightmare. I have had a fair few myself and all the times I've had it the time it takes to recover changes near enough every time which is a pain. I would be surprised if he's back this week

So we just aren't in the class of the bills or Dolphins who beat Atlanta and suck so bad we have no chance at home with Tom Brady against a 3-2 team?
BINGO

We just beat the Jets who beat the Dolphins who beat the Falcons.
I know that none of this correlates however we CAN and WILL compete.

I love the Pats with every fiber of my being, but I really can’t see them beating an angry pissed off Falcon team looking for revenge WITHOUT Rowe & Gilmore. Held on for dear life against an average QB in McCown. Ryan is a completely different beast altogether. He’s way above average. Even with Rowe and Gilmore it would be a tough game. But with a special team player (Bademosi) and our 4th corner playing as our #2 and #3 corner, there is no part of me that can see a Pat’s victory.

There’s always a chance with Tom Brady and Belichick at the helm. But that’s too much to ask. I think we’ll have a repeat of SB 51 with Brady trying to come back from a big deficit. But with those 2 guys out, that deficit won’t stay static. I hope I’m wrong.
Waffle back and forth much?

So you’re saying it’s over? Chalk it up as an L?

When do the Sox pitchers and catchers report?

It's ironic that many have trashed Gilmore on here but now that he might not play sunday night he's needed? Sounds like the GDT All-Stars are out in full force this week...

Jay Cutler lead a second half comeback down 17-0 at halftime against the falcons...

I know Gilmore is supposed to be amazing and Bademosi is a JAG or w/e but personally, the fact Butler played much better as CB1 combined with a decent performance from Bademosi, combined with the safeties playing better perhaps because they had more confidence in what Butler was doing................. meant that the overall secondary looked pretty good to me this last game without Gilmore. I am sure BB saw the same, told them to keep Gilmore resting, and wants to see more of Bademosi. BB praised Bademosi both postgame and in the radio show as well.

Frankly, I'm not sweating much seeing Gilmore on the sideline. Jones played well too.

I agree mostly with what u said. If Gilmore is out I think we will survive and play well too. I just don't think Bb would sit a healthy productive corner whom with more experience with the secondary can only make our defense better.

With that said. I'm kind a little confused with Gilmores and the Allen signing. Did Bb try them out or just throw money at them because he was afraid someone else would sign them which is unBblike?

I disagree. Pats (and all NFL teams) play dinged up players all the time if they have to or let them rest them longer if they can afford to since they have better back-ups etc. I am saying that discovering Bademosi is decent allows Gilmore to get a longer rest. That's completely in line with the norms.

E.g. start of last year we kept Gronk on the sidelines and then ramped his snap counts slowly, partly because we had Bennett in the team. If we didn't we might have brought him back quicker........ like we did this year from the injury since we only have useless Allen.

I'm just saying if Gilmore is healthy and cleared to play then Bb wouldn't sit him but if he is still dinged up I understand your position.

Jay Cutler couldn't lead his Cub Scout troop down Main Street on Memorial Day...

Bills and Dolphins have better and healthier defenses.
That is debatable but teams play games not just defenses.

That's fine if you want to think the bills and Dolphins are not only better than the patriots but so much better that the pats have absolutely no chance of beating a team they both beat.
I guess you figure we lose those 4 as well and 9-7 is our best chance of we run the table against teams that aren't so much better than us like buffalo miani and Atlanta.

I've had concussions that were probably pretty severe and was totally fine the next day.
I say severe because:
The first one occurred in a scrimmage my senior year of high school.
I played center on offense and we would call the play once in the huddle and I and the SE would go up to the line then they would call it again and everyone else would break the huddle. After the concussion on every single play when the QB got to the line I turned around and asked the snap count. I'm talking like 40 times.
On defense I played MLB. We had switch our d from 44 the previous year to 43 with a "monster". Somehow I called the right defense in the huddle but then i lined up in last years defense.

The second was my freshman year in college and actually happened warming up before the game. We would do the drill where there are 2 lines 10 yards apart and you run in and have a collision. I played d in college and while we were on offense I can remember kneeling on the sideline watching and trying to figure out who we were playing against. I don't think I ever did (and their helmet had the first letter of the school as it's helmet logo)

In both cases I was fine the next day ad if nothing ever happened. So concussions are strange animals and each one has its own characteristics.

In 5 games the Falcons are 3-2 with a PF-PA of 121-109. In 4 of the 5 games they've beaten the fearsome Bears by 6 points and the powerful Lions by 4 points. And as you mentioned they lost to what must now be the FEARSOME! Bills & POWERFUL! Phins.
The Falcons will be a tough test for the Patriots especially with 2/3 of the front line CBs possibly out. It won't be an easy win and we certainly could lose. But how one extrapolates the information above into the Patriots have no chance and we should just write the game off? Maybe it's too harsh to be so blunt but that thinking is suggestive of a mild psychological disorder.

The same people that say we have no chance against the falcons are the same people in the game day threads that always say we have lost the game in the 1st quarter when a team scores a td on us. 14-0 down against the jets.. u guys should have seen what they were saying in there.

Its easy.
Any flaw the Patriots show is a disaster and will never get fixed, and probably get worse and anything they do well doesnt count because the opponent wasn't the 85 Bears defense of the Greatest Show on Turf offense.
Conversely any problems the opponent has had are either just getting up to speed, and ALL THAT TALENT is ready to bust out, or they played great opponents and everything they did well will only be better against the hapless Patriots.

Finally, and my favorite, if they have been winning they are 'hot' and we caught them at a bad time, but if they have been losing they will be angry and fired up so they will of course play great.
If we have been winning we are due to lose, if we have been losing its all falling apart and we have no chance. (This one also applies if we win, but its close and/or one unit didn't play great)

You thought the Curse was that the Red Sox would never win the world series because they traded Babe Ruth, but really the curse is that the Red Sox failing for so many years has turned the New England fan base into a bunch of people who act like scared 7 years olds, and are afraid of both failure and success, and decide to proactively predict suck so they cannot be disappointed thereby never really being able to enjoy the success. We are witnessing the greatest run of success in NFL history and 50% or more of the posts and posters are negative, gloom and doom, everything sucks, 'oh poor me' exercises in futility.
