No Gilmore, No Rowe at Practice (Weds) [wk 7 vs Atl injury reports & updates]

For a guy that says Sanu is a JAG, you obviously do not use the same logic for Lewis.
Lewis longest run, ever, was 31 yards. He never has rushed for more than 95 yards in a game.
What does one have to do with the other?
If you think Lewis sucks then I understand why you want him in the bench.
I happen to think he is good

If Lewis is the main back, all game, the Falcons will borrow a page from Belichick's Super Bowl 25 game plan : they won't bother to stop the run.
I'm not sure where I said play him all game. I think I said I expect to see him more than gillislee in this game just like his increased pt vs Denver last year.
I'm not sure how you equate belichicjs game plan that centered around forcing jim keely into getting greedy by daring him to run with defending a Tom Brady team.

More details on the Gilmore concussion. Nothing out of the ordinary but glad they caught this before it got worse.

I expect to see neither Rowe nor Gilmore on Sunday.

I supposed given the nature of the injury Gilmore could be being held out as a precaution but is still involved in game planning and ready to go of the symptoms permit.
Seems more unlikely than likely though.

NEXT MAN UP. We have rings earned because the next man up did his job.

It would seem reasonable to keep Gilmore out until after the bye.

I think you will see a lot of Lewis this week over Gillislee. Atlantas D is built on speed and quickness, so Lewis is a better matchup.

Do you really think the New England Patriots operate in a way that they think they need to prove their legitimacy in a regular season game, because they want to upset the haters? And that will make them play better? Havent you been paying attention to how this team is run. Ignore the noise, do your job.

They're hyper competitive, professional athletes. I'd be worried if they didn't see the opportunity. There is a balance between that and still doing your job. They aren't robots. The opportunity to prove yourself has the capability to bring yourself to another level. You think Brady was just like "oh well lol" when people doubted him in 2014? **** no. Look at hyped he gets in those moments. The dude plays his game as if he's going to lose his job every day. That's positive, emotional influence.

I love the "Do your job" mantra, but some people here take it to this robotic level. It's more so "Don't sell out for the flash, don't overthink things". Nowhere does that say don't take advantage of an opportunity to prove yourself. Just don't get too lost in that idea and sacrifice the team.

I thought Bademosi is also over 6'?

So I've heard, so that calms a bit - though he's going up against one of the best WR's in the league. Would actually be really cool to see him hold his own. I'm not good with X's and O's - will they just keep Dmac over the top to help, or with this CB snap count increasing, what other plans might there be?

...ryan is going to throw for 400 yards.

Hope you're wrong but holding ryan to 350 would be an accomplishment. I said we have been the cure for teams struggling. It's imaginable that this team could be 1-3 at home.

I can't answer that because i don't know here he is. If he is ready he should play and the bye really isn't relevant.

Julio Jones is licking his chops right now....

They are hyper competitive to win. Not to silence Yahoo!'s crying about stats.

Again all good but you are severely misplacing the motivation. They aren't reading message boards and newspapers to find out who to silence. They are focused on doing their job and winning. That's my point the motivation isn't what people say.

Every day. Not because people are saying things. In 2014 he focused on doing his job better which is what he does every year. By your argument he would slack off when he gets praised. His motivation is 100% internal.

No. Do your job says carry out your assignment and most importantly TRUST EVERYONE ELSE TO DO THEIRS.
it is totally contradictory to I am going to prove myself. The patriots are built in so your job not do what makes you look good or gives you the best chance to make a play.

A db thinking he has to prove himself will play tight coverage when he has help underneath to try to get a pick or jump a route when he dorsnt have help deep and get burned in a double move.
A DL will guess and abandon his gap to try to make a big play keavjmg an enormous hole.

This is the difference between playing to silence critics and playing team football to win
There is no question the patriots are run to ignore the first and work to the second

Gotta get pressure with the front 7. It's that kind of game Sunday night.

You'll taking this way too well. Yeah, Butler, J Jones and Bademosi hold it together last game, but if you think the Jets' aerial attack is in the same neighborhood as the Falcons', you are are in denial.

Going without 2 of our top 3 CBs in this game is enormous. Bademosi, bless his heart, has played at sub-JAG all his career (not counting ST).... It will take more than one McCown led Jets game to change my mind.

At this point i think need to say that no, im not giving up, or i'll get yelled at, however Im just not going to pretend we arent in trouble. Players win games (that's BBs words too) and we are going without 2 extremely important pieces to this game.

Biggest silver lining is that, if we play well defensively in this one, there's no stopping us

That's a big if. Gonna need a pass rush. I know the falcons haven't looked like world beaters but they will be licking their chops to beat us although it won't take away the Super Bowl L. I still feel they are one of the top 3 teams in the NFC.

I'm surprised BB has room on his 53 man roster for David Harris but
not enough for another cornerback.

I guess it is all up to offense now. Not just in terms of sheer scoring, if we are to win they will have to control TOP and keep Ryan on the sidelines as much as possible.
