No Gilmore, No Rowe at Practice (Weds) [wk 7 vs Atl injury reports & updates]

It’s so weird how in odd years we pile up the injuries, even years, we seem to avoid a massive amount of key injuries (besides Gronk).

I know for a fact they have healthier defenses and at this moment better defenses. I never said they are better teams than the Pats. Pat’s offense is the best in the AFC.
You said the patriots have zero chance to beat Atlanta after
Miami and buffalo just did. That means you are saying they are far superior teams.

Makes no sense to sign players to huge contracts if one small injury can end their career.

Belichick was supposed to be the master at coaching up, exactly to avoid this scenario. Now Gilmore's contract will break the team's back. I sense a Mike Wright situation here.

No worries, just cut him and take a 30m cap hit.

We saw a tad more Richards than we wanted last game... w/o Gilmore/Rowe, we might see lots more on Sunday night. Not necessarily ideal if the Falcons decide to turn up the heat after a few disappointing outings.

This has been a very weird season so far.

Falcons have scored 17 points in each of their last 2 games.

Yeah, thats what it seems like. I just read this clown wasn't at practice today. How the hell could he concus himself badly enough to miss two weeks?

Lots of guys miss multiple games with concussions. It's not 2000 anymore, we know too much about concussions to run guys into the ground so hard that they can't remember how to drive home by 40.

As Rowe and Gilmore miss their 2nd straight game, let's remember Logan Ryan had never missed a game...

Did you know this or just found out from a Doug Kyed tweet an hour ago?

Zero drafted corners.
Malcolm Butler, Johnson Bademosi, and Jonathan Jones each Undrafted players.

Just like a slumping Carolina magically had their best game of the season vs the Patriots D, I have a feeling Atlanta will do the same come Sunday night.
Of course you do

Yes, although Bademosi cost us a sixth, where Bill has also been known to find talent now and then.

This offseason was so unlike other years. We traded away higher draft picks and gave big contracts to some players we didn't even tryout in some cases. This wasn't how we usually built our Super Bowl teams but let's see how this season turns out.

Technically no but welker, moss, Dillon, came that way and really the way we built those teams was by every means available so this isn't really that different.

They are hyper competitive to win. Not to silence Yahoo!'s crying about stats.

Again all good but you are severely misplacing the motivation. They aren't reading message boards and newspapers to find out who to silence. They are focused on doing their job and winning. That's my point the motivation isn't what people say.

Every day. Not because people are saying things. In 2014 he focused on doing his job better which is what he does every year. By your argument he would slack off when he gets praised. His motivation is 100% internal.

No. Do your job says carry out your assignment and most importantly TRUST EVERYONE ELSE TO DO THEIRS.
it is totally contradictory to I am going to prove myself. The patriots are built in so your job not do what makes you look good or gives you the best chance to make a play.

A db thinking he has to prove himself will play tight coverage when he has help underneath to try to get a pick or jump a route when he dorsnt have help deep and get burned in a double move.
A DL will guess and abandon his gap to try to make a big play keavjmg an enormous hole.

This is the difference between playing to silence critics and playing team football to win
There is no question the patriots are run to ignore the first and work to the second

The thing here is you're assuming everything is on or off/black or white. I'm saying you can have a dose of both - is it entirely predicated on shutting people up? No. Of course not. It's just some internal opportunity to prove yourself lmao.

I don't get what's so difficult for my perspective to exist within yours lol. Your idea of proving yourself is apparently solely existing within your own vacuum. Your argument, actually, is existing in a very tight set of variables, or a vacuum might I say.

"Playing to prove yourself is selfishacthere"- why? Why is that such a concrete fact? You can prove yourself as a unit.

The whole counter to my Brady assertion is.. non sequitur. Nowhere did my original point did I say what he does otherwise, but he'll scream in victory just a bit more.on those TD's it seems. Of course the dude is always doing his best each week in and out.

It seems like there's a breakdown in the idea of "proving yourself" between you and I, so I'd venture to say that's leading to misunderstandings. Proving yourself can exist with the idea of doing the best within your unit, serving your unit in your function, as well as playing to your best ability.
