And he did it on issues where Goodell was in the wrong, especially Ray Rice and uncapped season cap penalty.
And then Krafts bends over and lets Goodell take another 1st round pick.

I have stated facts and opinions. All of my facts are completely accurate. An opinion is not something that can rightly be called "revisionist ********."Revisionist bullshyt...and YOU know it.

If I invented a time machine and brought 100 random NFL players from 1983 (with the appropriate numbers from each position) to the present day for a game, nobody would be saying "wow! Look at how pure and wonderful their blocking and schemes are!" We would see just as much ugliness as we do today, if not more.

Thursday Night Football is worse. One thing that really sucks is MNF. People being exposed to those games these last few years are definitely gonna think the NFL lacks good football.
I made it clear I am not talking about rules changes, but I find it hilarious how one guy is telling me the players spend too much time training and now you're telling me they don't. It proves the point I am making: All these "old days were so much better!" people just make up crap as they go.has nothing to do with players in the 80's and players today...it has EVERYTHING to do with the preposterous rules changes and LACK of proper preseason and in season practice. Your contention is a superficial straw man.
You're absolutely right. It was just so much better being a Patriots fan 30 years ago.and BTW, if you are going to display "always right!" disease, I bow out. I'll take MY memories of the NFL and the Patriots and you are welcome to your little goo gee gaa gaa "reality".
It also kinda show though that the problem roots much deeper than Roger Goodell.
The NFL never has looked worse, in my humble opinion. I have loved it all my life and spent many thousands on it in the process, so when someone like me is rooting for it to fail, you know things are pretty damn bad.
You're absolutely right. It was just so much better being a Patriots fan 30 years ago.
Now please stay true to your word and "bow out."
So, he didn't negotiate new record television deals?
Increased the bargaining position by having 17 Thursday night games where networks not only fought each other, but ended up having his fingers in ALL the pies by including CBS, NBC, NFLN, and ESPN?
Increase revenue by bringing NFL football to other countries such as the UK, Canada, and Mexico?
A new CBA where the owners clearly won certainly made him favorable in the eyes of his bosses, no?
He didn't get the concussion parties to agree on financial compensation that was at 5-10% what everyone believed they'd have to pay?
Your claim that he did "nothing" to increase revenue for the owners is not correct, as much as I hate him. It goes way beyond fantasy football.
Agreed. He should have been canned for a whole bunch of reasons, and that one was the closest we came to actually seeing it. That was the one that really got public pressure against him.Almost got fired in 2014, why didn't that happen? life would be better now if that would have happened.
again, anyone could have done that.
roger goodells spygate, bounty gate and now deflategate penalties, and pure ass hatery will be looked at as the infection that slowly killed nfl football./
None of those owners give a rat's ass about what happens to the N.England Patriots, especially when they're lining their pockets with tons of money.
As corrupt as the league office is on those matters, none of those things will damage (let alone kill) the NFL.roger goodells spygate, bounty gate and now deflategate penalties, and pure ass hatery will be looked at as the infection that slowly killed nfl football./
You don't seem to understand. Goodell took power that the commishioner has had for 2 other commishioners had, and ABUSED it to the point where hes now been in court 4 or 5 times, and LOST everytime.
The CBA negotiations nearly failed, and if not for a last minute save by craft there more then likely would have been work stoppage. That wont be the case next time, there is ZERO chance the players union allows the League to maintain the current power it has over the players. ZERO. That makes when this current CBA is up, be ready for a shortened season, if there is a season at all.
This has nothing to do with the oweners, or the fans.
This is 100% about the players getting bent over by goodells random and ******ed punishments, and finally saying enough is enough. I highly doubt you are going to see Kraft coming to goodells aid in the next bargaining agreement, if goodell survives that long as Commissioner.

“In these difficult economic times, you want to create stability and planning for our business,” said Robert K. Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots and chairman of the league’s broadcast committee. “When we made our C.B.A. deal with the players,” he said about the collective bargaining agreement reached last summer, “we promised if they worked with us, they would be the big beneficiary — and they’re getting 55 percent of the TV money.”
