If what Mary Cabot says is true, would you still deal Jimmy G.?

  • Yes. I would take whatever I can get, especially if it includes the #12 overall pick

  • Perhaps, but their offer has to include a couple more picks, including a 2nd rounder. Or NO DEAL

  • No. Jimmy G will still be in New England if the compensation does not include multiple 1's

If next March rolls around and the Pats aren't intent on keeping Garoppolo, at that point I bet they'd franchise and trade him rather than taking the comp pick.

For what exactly? I don't think they would get as much because the QB class will be much better in 2018.

What is there best offer is 3 2nds and 2 3rds How would we feel about it.

Five day 2 picks for JG? If that's the offer I'll call the Browns myself and accept the offer on behalf of the World Champion New England Patriots.

Some ****ty QB-less team's high 2nd rounder would be my guess. I dunno if anyone would be willing to deal a first for a guy on the franchise tag in a solid QB class, but a 2 should be doable. If Matt Cassel can get you the 33rd pick, Garoppolo should have no trouble getting you someting in the top 40 even in a good QB draft.

Depends if your on about all of there 2nd rounders
Next year or 2 this year and one next year and vice versa?

What does that draft calculator doo-hickie thing say?

My hot take is that is a good deal.

If Cleveland gives up an unconditional first rounder in a Garoppolo trade, then they got fleeced.

If Cleveland thinks Garoppolo has a decent chance of being a franchise QB and they DON'T give up a ransom, then they're really stupid.

There's no Andrew Luck in the draft - show me a first-rounder who's not a QB who is worth a franchise QB.

I wish jimmy was our future QB after brady but that all depends on brady and jimmy waiting and wanting to be the QB here. Where would jimmy go to be the main QB.

What's the story on bridgewater? Is his career over?

Cleveland would be smart to give two first rounders. They have had some busts picks in the first rounds. They still have a bunch of picks. Still under the cap with a bunch of money.

If that's the case then trade him for number 12 and 33 and a second rounder in 2018. It doesn't make sense to keep him and trade him next year for lesser value. I think this guy will be here if he's not traded. I know it sounds crazy and expensive but that's my take.

All the more reason for the Browns to not surrender an unconditional first rounder for JG. Wait a year and more probable than not you'll have your guy.

MKC has been just about the one person in/around Cleveland beating the drum for a Garoppolo trade, so I do think it's meaningful that even she's acknowledging that it's probably not going to happen.

This new crew here in Cleveland has been very impressive and I might say.....very Beliceckean.

Definitely not the SOB's

I suspect that the Cousins situation has yet to play out so they will keep that open. Also, tons of pro days to get about.

What really should happen is a trade should get done before any OTA's/mini camps if they occur before the draft.

They may be short on institutional football knowledge but that org is filled with high IQ people. Hell even their VP Pro Personnel is a football guy and was cum laude from Harvard with a bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s in computer science. They even have their own Ernie Adams who is Ken Kovash and he graduated from Cal-Berkely with a degree in economics and received his master's in business administration from the University of Chicago.

The Whiz Kids are in Cleveland.

I do have to confess I am very interested in seeing how thing play out in Cleveland. It certainly is a different management group than what they had over the previous decade-plus since re-entering the league. I am willing to give them a 2-3 year pass since they had to hit rock bottom and start fresh.

Tough thing about doing that is you have a big hunk of cap tied up until you can consummate the trade, which can limit you greatly in the early stages of free agency.

That kind of mentality's why the browns have sucked.
