Hard to believe the amount coaches are holding their players back from playing in these games. Imagine having Jalen Hurts as your QB and thinking he doesn't need any reps at all to get ready for the season. The first month of the season is going to be ugly.

If you need to give your guys reps, give them reps. If you don't, sit them. Agreeing beforehand to both kneecap themselves to not embarrass the other team like the Pats did the Eagles last week? Now THAT's embarrassing for both teams.

Probably secured Johnson a roster spot as QB 2 or 3, and Morgan could have earned a spot on another team after he's likely cut soon.

Prior to this game Morgan was ahead of Johnson.

If the Jets feel they are completely comfortable with where Wilson's at so much that they don't need to give him game reps, then fine.

I think they are happy enough with where Zach is at. Especially considering the oline was going to be missing 3 starters (LT, RT, LG). No sense risking getting Zach beat up in a preseason game.

Also supposedly the extra practices with other teams this year have proven to be extremely helpful. Or so I hear from reports. If possible the NFL has made preseason games even more meaningless.

I haven't watched preseason enough to distinguish the Jets' injured crapulence from their usual level of crapulence. My apologies.

It seems that the bulk of coaches have interpreted the shortened preseason schedule and greatly limited padded practices as reason to hold out players more, while Andy Reid and Bill Belichick have interpreted it as reasons to use starters more. Generally, when betting on whether Reid and Belichick are smarter than the field you would usually take Reid and Belichick, but let's see how it plays out.

I am SO looking forward to seeing snarky little Punky McMilfson get pounded this season. His headband can be used as a tourniquet and they can feed him his juice boxes through IV. Maybe he'll get his jaw wired shut like Gee-No! Hot Mommy will lay siege at the commissioner's office demanding rule changes to protect the pampered puke. Here's hoping Josh Johnson makes his second Jete tour of duty worthwhile.
