If SF drafts Lance, we would first try for Fields. Failing that, we would try to move up for Jones.

It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I would have to guess WFT and Bears will make an aggressive move in the 8-14 range thenIf Lance goes to the Niners at 3 I think the chance that Mac Jones is available at 15 sky rockets.
And the Saints too, given the recent news. I just can’t picture them going with Hill without legit competition. We’ll see though.I would have to guess WFT and Bears will make an aggressive move in the 8-14 range then
I see no point or conclusion.
ALL THESE ARE TRUE
1) Many want a top 5 QB because they are more likely to be a good or great QB.
2) at least 1 or 2 are likely to bust (definition different for different people; often depends on the team environment)
3) It is unlikely to get a SB quality (top 10) QB in the later rounds.
CONCLUSION
???
For me, it is to get one of the 5 quarterbacks.
Here's a list of all the positions (not doing special teams here) that never have first round busts:When was the last time the top five QBs drafted were successful picks not including last year because it it too early? When was the last time the top three QBs selected in the draft were considered successful? And when I say successful, they turned into at least good QBs.
And this year is more of a crap shoot than most years.
In any given year even with the top five picks are first round picks, at least one of them are a bust. Since 2013 through 2019, there has been at least one bust or major disappointment drafted in the top 3 QBs selected including Haskins, Darnold, Trubisky, Paxton Lynch, Marcus Mariota, Jaemis Winston, Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel, and EJ Manuel.
Even in the best first round QB class ever of 1983, Tony Eason and Todd Blackledge were two of the first five picks. And two of the other picks are in the HOF (Elway, Kelly). Marino was the sixth.
I will bet you anything at least one of the top five picks this year will at best be a mediocre starter if not an outright bust.

Exactly right this is a crap shoot. Draft a player who played this year and proved it on the field. You move up for Pitts who's a freak perennial All Pro, other then that pick BPA at 15 that has actual tape this year to evaluate or move out. guessing and projecting this year makes little sense. QB is always a crap shoot when you have a normal year, this is anything but. When was the last time the top five QBs drafted were successful picks not including last year because it it too early? When was the last time the top three QBs selected in the draft were considered successful? And when I say successful, they turned into at least good QBs.

Every position busts.I am saying the QB has a bust or at least a major disappointment virtually every year. From what I can see (other the 2020 which gets an INC but could be the exception), you have to go all the way back to 2008 to find a draft where all the QBs drafted in the first round were successful with Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco being the only ones selected.
If Bears fans aren’t the leader in the clubhouse, they’re in a dead heat with Patriots fans.Watching Patriots fans push all sorts of nonsense, silliness, cheapness, and pure cowardice as excuses not to trade up and/or draft a QB has been the best part of this year's draft lead up. No other fan base has been nearly as ridiculous.
Basing assumptions on rumors isn't really a smart way of forming judgement. We have no idea why the 49's traded up when they did and who they want. Howe has no more knowledge of the situation then we do. He is just getting those clicks. If the 49ers traded up over a month before the draft and miscalculated in thinking that the Jets were going to draft Fields and they would grab Wilson, John Lynch should be fired. That would mean they mortgaged the future to draft a player that will be off the board before they can draft. That is a monumental blunder.
