After listening to WEEI I heard a few respected personalities say he should not go to court because he did "something." Fair enough.
There was "something" in the sample. They can't say "masking agent, adderol, or whatever new steroid thing that looks enough like something banned to trigger a positive" every time.
I also understand the two host sports talk radio format where 1 guy draws the short straw and has to argue a position that will generate calls. (Usually from Russ Golman. :) )
I also understand that radio hosting is not reporting.
Now for the funny part: Here is a scenario that is unlikely but has as much evidence as "he did something (see above for the long description of "something")"
The sample collector wrote dow 180ML. Then he took it home and used it for his urine fetish. The sample collector used 20ml and knew if he turned in 160ml people would know he is a pervert. So he topped it off with nail polish remover. (All perverts have nail polish remover. :) ) Then it set off alarms because something was wrong.
This scenario has as much evidence as Edelman did something.
Yeah, they have proof that the test found something. I have proof he appealed the chain of custody was broken. My speculation based on few facts is as valid as theirs.

Damn

You lost me when you said "I was listening to WEEI".. sports talk radio has devolved into a cesspool of made up controversy designed to get the listeners to mad about something, anything...

It's brutal right now. It's always been bad but now all they do is force the narrative.

I can't tell if this is a new low for homeristic excuse making, or a new high for snorting whippits, but it's 30 seconds of my life I'll never get back.

As I understand it, the chain of custody on the report was broken, not on the sample itself. That's a pretty weak case for overturn.

What a steaming pile of crap we have here.

Washed my car last night, happened to turn on the Adam Jones show - he was going on and on about how the Celtics are the prohibitive favorite to win the East and how if they fail to make the Finals it is a CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE blah blah blah.. rather than focusing on how far this team has come and how the young talent has developed so well etc, its just about choking garbage. Reminded me why I've cut back on sports radio the past couple of years - they all pretty much suck.

It's a pretty fail-proof model for forming a lazy opinion: If you have a league with 30+ teams, odds are decidedly in your favor to predict doom, since only one of them can win. Team loses because it isn't as talented? Team was built improperly! Team loses because of one call in a tight game? Coach blew it! Team loses when it has the talent advantage? Chokers! Team wins the whole thing? Yeah but if Seattle had just RUN the ball...!

Only 30 seconds? Who's your ISP?
