Goodell contract demands ($50m salary, private jet, health insurance for life)

I posted this in another thread. Its Peter King but it's legit.

No question Jerrah is going to the mattresses on this.

As one source who has seen Goodell’s contracts—the current one and the one being negotiated with him now—said Saturday, his existing deal was just as one-sided as Jones has charged. This is how that source described it: There was a provision in the old deal that mandated Goodell receive an average of $25-million per year in guaranteed bonuses in a rolling three-year period over the life of the deal. If Goodell did not receive $25 million in bonuses in one year, it would have to be made up over the next two years, and in each three-year period, he’d be guaranteed approximately $75 million in bonuses........Goodell, the committee devised, would get a base salary of almost $4 million. And the rest would be incentivized—88% of the contract would consist of money Goodell would earn on the basis of the league’s performance.

How Goodell’s compensation would be figured, according to one ownership source who has been briefed on the proposed deal, is highly complicated. “It will be very discretionary,” the ownership source said Saturday.

‘Jerry Jones wants to overthrow Roger Goodell’

Kraft is one of the six voting members on the compensation committee. I'd like to think he would take this opportunity strike, but I don't think he will.

The other owners include the Chiefs, Texans, Giants, Falcons and Steelers, and I don't see anyone else in that group willing to do anything. So this could get quite messy if Jerry does end up suing them.

Never ever ever underestimate an old rich crazy guy and how far he will go to get revenge.

I would give him that contract if I could add the stipulation of slapping him in the face once a month.

From the article, here's Kraft --

"Still, in that fateful conference call Nov. 2, after Jones’ threat, the source with knowledge of the call said Patriots owner and committee member Robert Kraft told Jones words to this effect: Jerry, my franchise got killed for a BS incident with so-called deflated footballs. We lost our quarterback for 25% of the season. We got fined a million bucks. We lost first- and fourth-round picks. For hogwash! But I took it. My fans killed me for it, but I try to be a good partner."

I wonder if his existing contract has a non disclosure agreement.....if he gets jettisoned, he will probably have some interesting laundry for public consumption

That said, if those expectations are real, I would be very hesitant

If you remove yourself emotionally from deflate gate and spy gate, you’d see a league with some serious envy issues when it comes to the Pats.....I think what’s happening with Dallas is possibly Goodell throwing expectations back at jones .... and a dare saying ‘I dare you to not rehire me’

He also did that with the confidence he has in his organization to be at/near the top even if 1st round picks are taken away

I don't understand RK's point. (If was true quote).

I was a stupid farking lemming so you have to be one too (because two wrongs will somehow make things look better???).

Does RK not understand his point underscores exactly why he should be spting Jerrah now??
(Silly question- of course he doesn't understand).

Reader beware, Chris Mortensen reported the part about private jet for life and other stuff. I am not saying 11 of the 12 claims in the article are wrong, I am saying take it with a grain of salt. A source may not be telling Chris the whole story.

Krafty is an enigma....so willing to reward the clown who shafted his club ....with ungodly sums of treasure and lifetime perks.
I keep asking myself what leverage Goodell possesses to demand and receive the moon the stars.
Where the factual concussion report is buried? Where Ray Lewis' white suit has been stored? How many married owners have special nieces?
Go Jerruh Go

Somone that already makes between 30-45 million a years needs to be GIVEN a private plane? How much could they possibly cost

A Gulfstream G650 is about $70 million new, with yearly operating costs of a couple million.

I laughed at the health insurance part. You know health insurance is messed up when a guy negotiating for a $50m annual salary is bickering about having health insurance.

There is no question in my mind that, that weasel is blackmailing the owners.
He probably has dirt on every owner.

He better be careful. He might get a contract alright....on his head.
An unfortunate accident?

Hey, you never know?

We're talking big money and powerful people, that could be put in uncompromising positions.

I can dream, cant I ? :D
