DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION The Official NFL Draft Day 1 thread

Optimistic Observations:

1. BB really likes the players currently on the roster.
2. BB really likes the players we drafted.
3. Plenty of DLs, DBs and WRs left.

Denver is at 31, BSPN forgot to switch it. Now its Tampa.

Jones is a DE and that is whee he is playing. I think that Higtower is going to be an OLB.

Right now you are looking at:

Jones, Wilfork, Carter

Hightower, Spikes, Mayo, Niko/Cunningham

Much better than the front seven that Eli ripped apart

So BB will field the 1st ever 266 lbs. 3-4 2 gapping DE in the modern history of that system?

If Jones is a DE it's in sub or we plan on showing much more 4 man fronts.

Martin. Great pick, forgot about him.

Doug Martin one of my favs. He will have a good career in this league.

so back down to reality guys..... we have not one pick after the 2nd round. none for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th..... Idk how i feel about that. somebody please make me feel better lol.
Think of having 14 picks then cutting half or more of them before the season, at least this way they keep who they draft. Feel better? Try being me and not giving the slightest crap about college football. I have to come hear and read reactions to know how I feel about a draft because I know nothing about any of them. Looks like we did good, when jets fans are pissed about our draft is always a good sign.

Give me Jeffery at 48 and Janoris Jenkins at 62 and call it a draft.

That'd be amazing.

When looking at players available, the pats will get a quality player at 48 if they stay.

Lavonte David, Stephen Hill, Janoris Jenkins, Alshon Jeffery, Rueben Randle, Courtney Upshaw, Kendall Reyes.

Marshall Faulk compares Martin to Forte by narrating the Forte footage essentially comparing Forte to Forte.

Martin can be as productive as Trent easily. Happy they didn't take Jenkins because he can be their at 48

He is a kid give him a full off season with playing and eating full time, he will be 280 no problem. He is absolutely going to play DE.

Exactly, as long as BB doesn't pull a random player from nowhere one of those would make this the most perfect draft.

... "I mean look at the footwork!"
That's where Ron Howard interrupts and says "That's Forte."

The pats have no ammo to trade up with, so as much as we hope, odds are Reyes and Ja. Jenkins will be off the board by 48.

Sorry dude, there is absolutely no way Jones plays 34 DE. Our 34 Des are 300lb+ and were 43 DTs in college. 266 is 40 lbs too light.

Tomorrow: Hayward or Brooks, and Randle or Jeffery. Call it a day. I'm happy.

More optimistic observations:

Pats made the SB with a ton of injuries and Sergio Brown and Ihedigbo starting at safety for a big chunk of the season.

Someone crank called Mohamed Sanu to tell him he was going to the Bengals at #27. That's absolutely cruel.

This is what Jones will be playing:
