Honestly I stopped caring after we beat the Jets. Unlike some people, I saw the writing on the wall and knew we weren't getting in the playoffs weeks ago. I said at the start of the season if we end up 2-4 or 2-5 we should just lose out and play for the draft because historically you won't make the playoffs. So of course we hit that threshold and then beat a team we could have lost to just to say we did and then got weather help the next week.

So I'm pretty resigned to the belief that our chance of finding a QB this off season is the equivalent to rolling snake eyes on a pair of dice. It doesn't really matter at this point. This is probably a two year rebuild now at the minimum.

Play to win. Period. I look at this season in terms of Bill the Coach and Bill the GM's legacy. Bill is the best coach in the history of the nfl, BUT if he has a sub .500 season without Brady it gives his naysayers some ammo. Anti Bill media shoot down the 11-5 Cassell season with "it was an easy schedule!" "they didn't even make the playoffs!". Just wait for what's to come if the Pats go 6-10 this season. Also, I do not trust Bill the GM with a high draft pick given his abject drafting failures of the last 3 or 4 seasons...
Everyone in the NFL was prepared to give Bill a mulligan on this year because Brady left, they were in cap hell, and they had the most covid opt outs. Realistically winning the last couple of games is going to hurt him because it's going to be harder to find a QB and we might be dealing with very similar issues next year. One very bad year and a bounce back is better than kicking the can down the road for two relative bad years.

I care more about the team doing well longterm and getting that started as fast as possible than trying to care what people say about Bill. Winning would solve that problem. And right now getting W's this year isn't going to help us do it next year

The NFL Maps will not be out until tomorrow, but it looks as though the Pats-AZ game should get a decent amount of broadcast distribution. Due to there being three games Thursday (assuming the Pitt-Balt game is not postponed on account of the Ravens having major covid issues), Fox has only three games available in their early time slot.

Expect the Pats game to be available in New England, western PA, WV, MD, central Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arizona and the Pacific Northwest. The only other Fox early games are Giants-Bengals (that will go to Ohio and the four NFC East markets) and Carolina-Minnesota (that will only go to those two team's fan bases).

Kevin Burkhardt and Daryl Johnston (the #2 Fox crew) will be the announcers.

edit: many of the Great Lakes area stations are switching to an NFC North game (Vikings-Panthers).

Woohoo!

Would be great to at least see one of the rookie te’s in action this year. The more needs we could check off for the off-season the better. Not terribly optimistic there though

If I were Bill I'd remind the players about recent Packers and Giants teams which won it all as the sixth seed.

More important, the attitude and culture of doing your best and doing all you can to win. This is a routine and habit which is hard and takes a long time to build. You don't lose it by losing games. You lose it by slacking off.

But all my life I've rooted for the Pats to win. That will never change.

I expect the pats to play much better this weekend at home than the crap they put on the field in Houston.

is it enough to win, maybe, but probably not.

point is I expect them to be more competitive.

Fitzgerald tests positive for COVID

Well that will help the Pats.

I wonder who was in close contact. This game might be a lot easier to win on Sunday for the Pats if it's guys like Murray. Can't see them being allowed to play.

Hope Fitz recovers quickly regardless.

Fitzgerald is coming off one of his most productive games of this season when he posted eight receptions for 62 yards with a season-year 10 targets in the Cardinals 28-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
For the season, Fitzgerald has 43 receptions for 336 yards, and his 43 catches rank second on the team behind DeAndre Hopkins, who leads the way with 72 receptions for 912 yards with four touchdowns.
