For the Film Reviewers:

Bademosi gave up just two receptions on 97% snaps. Any idea if it was tight coverage or McCown not taking advantage of a matchup?

That’d be a nice find if we got a STer that can provide quality depth on the outside at CB.

I'll bite. Brown didn't get moved off his spot as much this game, which seemed to largely be a factor of more proactive play. He's at his best when he pushes upfield against the run and can extend his arms. His technique seems to suffer when he lets the play come to him, which has resulted in him getting washed out more than anticipated in recent weeks. A couple good plays from yesterday:

Good stack and shed. He shows strength, composure, and control to shut down the gap on either side.

Nice power here. Thankfully he chose the right gap to knife into; otherwise, he would have left an open lane if KVN hadn't been there to prevent the cutback.

Really nice job avoiding the cut block and recovering his balance to get back into his gap responsibility. He's a big man, and that movement takes some agility:

Great contribution @reamer!
I know you're busy being young responsible father . but we need you as well..

BTW - KVN also had a great game by all accounts and your vids confirm some of that.
Her nice late sack w/o compromising a play:

Branch showing some life here as well..

The RB committee is coming along nicely as well. Can't wait Burk joins the fun..
All different, all versatile, all good pass protectors.
When all finally healthy this should be fun..

here the vid on his pinball technique

the slalom technique

and combined..

Appreciate these gifs and the write-up. In the 2nd play, you made the comment, "Thankfully he chose the right gap to knife into; otherwise, he would have left an open lane if KVN hadn't been there to prevent the cutback." But it looks like (to me anyway) KVN was crashing that gap anyway pre-snap, so it seems like it was planned to me. And if that's true, then just as importantly it's a positive sign that the communication in the front 7 might be getting better, that you don't see two people taking the same gap while leaving a huge hole at another gap.

That’s first vid should of been a late hit on Williams.

considering how they look at each other right after and high five, i think they planned it that way specifically

Interested in analysis of the next to last 4th & long (17?) play on the Jets last drive. How was the target that wide open?

You mean the 4th and 12. Butler was on Anderson and a corner blitz was called with Butler (who was on the line with Robbie Anderson), DM was then going to cover him. RA ran a 20 yard in with ASJ running a 12 yard curl with Richards covering him. Didn't love the play call

@SalemPats is correct. Butler blitzed on the play. Hard to say much about the secondary without the all 22. It looks like it might be a zone in which Richards is distracted by an underneath route.

The most unfortunate part of this CB blitz is it failed to create any pressure even if the coverage held longer. The Jets guard was able to pick up Butler. I wonder if Wise (the NT on the play) should have done a swim move to the left side, to occupy that guard.

Yes, I think you're right. I was surprised that he was pressuring the shoulder of the lineman so aggressively, instead of locking out to stack/shed, but your take makes more sense. Good call.

Definitely need the All-22 for the back end of the play, but your analysis seems very logical from what I do see -- looks like McCourty was supposed to take the outside zone and Richards the inside, and got himself caught up in the crossing pattern, and McCourty realized what happened and immediately took off after Anderson. And of course it was too late.

Really unfortunate because they still had 7 men in coverage that play, it wasn't a true blitz. Obviously they were hoping to draw confusion -- the delayed rush by Van Noy was supposed to play into it, I think, hoping to draw a few of the unoccupied linemen and distract them from the CB blitz coming from the same side. But the RG obviously saw what was happening (or someone else did and told him, because I didn't see his head look that direction at all) and wasn't fooled unfortunately.

Here are the final few defensive plays ( @chris_in_sunnyvale talked about the last one)

3rd down: I really like the pass rush twist that Hightower and Van Noy use. Van Noy is lined up inside but runs right at RT #72. Hightower waits long enough to distract the RT, before crossing over. Simple play but well executed.

4th down: I think the Jets QB could have stayed in the pocket longer, maybe he was feeling the ghost of the last rush. As he scrambles he also misses an open receiver who is likely able to get the first and get out of bounds. Instead he overthrows a receiver in triple coverage. Terrible QB play.

What do you know.. the moment Cannon is taken off injury list he breaks top 5. Maybe this could turn into fun season after all..

Yest was his best game and prob overall for the oline?

That looks like McCourtys man and he was way too soft. No one else is threatening his zone and it's WAY downfield.

We've struggled against bunch sets, i think this was a bunch set, the corner blitz might have worked. Maybe we weren't expecting a level route and more someone trying to find a spot in the zone.

I feel like there was tremendous improvement in protection for Brady- and I want to say that had a lot to do with backs picking up blitzers?

Looking forward to analysis on the Kearse 44 yarder breakdown. There was nobody in the same zip code on that play.

How did Bademosi do? Looks like he had simple seam/deep responsibility with Chung on the flat?

I think that was part of the game plan and will look for that when the all 22 comes available.

I love Shaq. Takes the fight to Davis and makes quick work of the LB. Maintains his position with Brady. Eyes up and cleans up Ealy who scraped across the line from the other side with some delayed pressure.

Andrews does a great job of getting his hands on Mo, underneath, locking up under his pass and moving him aside. Does a nice job of communicating the rush pre snap.

I like how White keeps his head and doesn't drop it before contact. Like to see a little more pop but thats a good job by 28.
