There will be considerable amounts of rust to knock off between him and Hogan both. I’d rather that happen before the AFCCG.If I had to guess, I'd say MM will be held out of this game, but activated for the Steelers.

You should think that being active is not at all the same as being healthy and productive (as we have all seen). Obviously there is a chance that each of the injured could dress at some point in the playoffs, or they would have been IR'd. But most of these injuries are not going to be 100% at any time during the playoffs, so it will all come down to seeing what they are able to produce. The injured are all just question marks.

No one is essential, especially against the worst team in the playoffs (by far).
Must be on roster by Wed or else he's done, could play anytime after. Could still be activated tomorrow for Sat.Ok so if MM uses the full 21 Days when exactly will he be eligible to suit up??
Agreed. It'd be one thing if the O was hitting on all cylinders but it's having some hiccups and Tennessee will be the team for which we have the largest margin of error. If MM and Hogan make it back into the mix, that disrupts coverage - period. Cooks has been our only vertical body, taking 91 snaps in the Jets game. Maybe he won't have to be in so many snaps if Hogan can take some of those routes, as he shown that he can. MM also showed bouts of brilliance in the intermediate game, so it'll be nice to have teams to account for that.
Last season, the intermediate-range attack was Edelman, Bennett, Mitchell and Amendola - accounting for 208 of 368 total receptions, 2451 of 4456 receiving yards and 18 of 32 receiving TDs. It represented about 65% of the passing attack.
Short-range receiving (<10yds) was mainly White, with occasional contributions from Lewis - 77 receptions for 647 yds and 5 TDs (all White's).
Hogan and Gronk (when he was healthy) were the deep attack - account for 63 receptions, 1220 receiving yards and 7 TDs.
----------
This season in the absence of Edelman, Mitchell and an adequate receiving replacement for Bennett - all that has been turned inside-out ...
The deep game has been Gronk and Cooks, with an occasional assist from Dorsett - accounting for 146 of 389 receptions, 2260 of 4619 receiving yards, and 15 of 32 TDs.
The short game has also expanded with Burkhead, Lewis and White accounting for 118 receptions, 927 yards and 9 TDs.
Meanwhile, the intermediate game has been mostly Amendola plus Hogan (when he was healthy). They accounted for 95 receptions, 198 receiving yards, and 7 TDs - about 25% of the passing attack.
Note that this was NOT the original design for the 2017 offense, but was worked out on the fly. However, all season long, the Pats have been putting up a lot of tape on the deep-and-short attack, and almost nothing on the intermediate attack. Getting both Hogan and Mitchell back for the intermediate game could help present something to opposing defenses that they haven't seen much of all season.
so what im seeing is...if you throw it to Cooks on 3rd down, he probably wont catch it
but if he catches it, its def a 1st down
id also like to know how the different categories are separated/calculated/reasonedThat's yards gained, though, and not where the ball was caught, right?
I read somewhere that that have until Tuesday to activate himOk so if MM uses the full 21 Days when exactly will he be eligible to suit up??
