NFL Coaching News: They didn't even wait until Black Monday to start the beheadings

From the Koetter firing link above:

Koetter has been fired after three years as the team’s head coach. Koetter was 19-29 during his time in Tampa.

“We sincerely appreciate the hard work and commitment shown by Dirk over the past several years,” Buccaneers owner Joel Glazer said in a statement. “Working with Dirk has been a pleasure and we wish him and his family all the best in the future. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately and will be conducted by General Manager Jason Licht.”

From the Bowles firing link above:

On Monday, Jets CEO Christopher Johnson said, “Todd Bowles is our head coach.”

On Sunday, Jets CEO Christopher Johnson said, “Todd Bowles was our head coach.”

The Jets have announced that Bowles won’t return in 2019. It’s not a surprise.

Koetter won’t be unemployed for long. There are a good amount of teams in the playoffs that should hire him as an offensive advisor ala the Pats with McDaniels in 2011.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald: Rex Ryan is reportedly contacting assistant coaches to gauge their interest in joining him in Miami (either the Dolphins if Gase is let go or the Hurricanes).

Please make this happen. It's been a dream of mine that he'd finish the tour of the AFC East and get beaten by Belichick and Brady while coaching all 3 franchises. :D

Stephen Ross mum about his mess while prominent coach preps for run at Dolphins’ job
League sources say Ryan has told some of the assistant coach candidates that he has a solid chance of landing one or the other Miami job but that he’s an NFL coach at heart and would prefer to coach the Dolphins.

UPDATE: Manny Diaz just named as Hurricanes HC...so that leaves the Dolphins a possibility.

Rex in the AFC is great news ............ if it happens.

From the Koetter firing link above:
Koetter got the job and smith got fired because of his relationship with Winston and they promoted him to not risk losing him as OC.
Given how it’s gone with Winston this firing had to be.

I dont think there are 3 humans stupid enough to hire Rex Ryan as a hc, much less 3 that actually have the power to.
