So were we in 2000.

Though I agree with you. I just like thinking about that 2001 team...
There were also many, many other 5-11 teams that continued to suck.
Its like saying every QB can play until 40 because Brady can.

But if the Chargers were capable of doing with their franchise what BB did here, then it would be possible.
I am saying the way they run their franchise IS the reason they will struggle for years.
If they hired BB tomorrow, would they make the playoffs in less than 5 years? Of course, but the fact that they operate the wrong way makes that statement pointless.

Bennett is reportedly looking for $9m per.

14 mil for campbell? I would understand if the guy was in his prime but he's 31. This market's crazy.

So justin coleman's coming back? Maybe he can bounce back

Your assessment is totally wrong. They will be unlucky not to be in the playoffs next year.

Ahead of Oakland, Kansas City, and Denver? Maybe they could get there if they were in the AFCS, but even then, when, other than a very short period under Shottenheimer, has San Diego EVER shown the discipline and talent to make a run?

Every year, we hear how they'll be dangerous - it's like listening to people claiming that THIS YEAR, the AFCE will catch the Pats...

And as good as he can look at times, the failure starts with Rivers.

I'm gonna be real honest, I forgot he existed. He wasn't amazing but certainly wasn't awful... Good depth to have since Ryan is probably leaving. Still would have Butler, Rowe, Jones, Coleman...

Pryor is so tempting. Had over a 1,000 yard season with the Brown's QBs throwing him the ball. He hasn't even learned the position fully yet.

But is 27 already... it's not like he is some young prospect and you would pay more for perceived potential than anything.. meh

At first I wanted Bennet to stay but I'm getting more inclined in letting him go and get that 4th round pick. I think this past year was an unusual year for him (for good) and there is a risk of a "regression to the mean" with him complaining or sitting in the contract and not putting the effort necessary, many times at the end of the year I saw him in the huddle relaxed and kinda distant like he knew we would win and wanted to get over it fast and go home.
