Mike White will start this Sunday, leaving Zach Wilson on the bench to "heal". It lead me to think about the Jets' attempts to develop a QB vs. the Pats who had not needed to develop a QB in the Brady era until now. The Patriots have almost accidentally developed better QBs to be Brady's backup who have then gone on to lead other teams to admittedly limited success than the Jets have to be their franchise cornerstone during Belichick's tenure.

Obviously Chad Pennington had a fine career, drafted in 2000, same year as Brady, but beyond that the Jets have spent three very high 1st round picks and three second round picks on the position and have not developed a QB better than Jacoby Brissett or Brian Hoyer. Mike White has a very low bar to clear to become the best Jets QB developed since Chad Pennington.
