OBJ has a way of putting his QB’s back against a wall. This kid is looking promising early and I want him thinking clearly and keeping the pressure level down to hopefully strengthen his progress.
If OBJ is on a short leash possible and that has been explained to him up front and can somehow have the Patriots Way win him over and he blocks, decoys and makes plays when his number is called. Then lets have at it. Most of all keep your mouth shut. He is a very good talent. I just cannot stand his very selfish diva tactics. I will never say never. And I have been wrong many times. We will see
Timid people project their fears to other people and think humans break down and crumble if you don’t sit around the campfire signing kumbaya on a regular basis.Honestly I just don't see Mac being intimidated by anyone. I mean, if he's already sneering and winking at an NFL defense in his very first professional game, there's very little that is going to shook this guy.
Because he's clearly a "me first" kind of player. The minute he pulls a diva move, he's cut with no strings attached, and he knows it. He furthermore knows that is the only kind of contract that BB is going to offer him. So if he chooses to sign here, that means he's willing to take that chance.
So, given all those conditions in our favor, why wouldn't you at least give it a shot?
I think claims need to be in by 4PM Monday, the award happens a day later on Tuesday. But theoretically can’t claim him till 4 PM on Tuesday. So maybe. Weird rare tricky question
Guys a cancer and not elite anymore. I said this before he got traded to the browns and he’s only proven me right. His deep speed has been gone for years. This is the last guy you want a rookie quarterback throwing too
It is so nice to have such young promise at QB. After Brady left I thought we would have to do the Buffet of QB’s to finally get something that worked for us. To do it so fast and the enjoyment of watching Mac catch on so quick brings comfort to keeping our winning ways have hopeHonestly I just don't see Mac being intimidated by anyone. My thought process was always “it’s time to draft the QB of the future”, so when they didn’t do that in the 2020 draft, I was hoping they would do that in 2021. Thank goodness they did, because I was never impressed with the 2022 QB class. I even said before they drafted Jones, even though he was the 5th rated QB, he is better than anyone who would be the 1st QB drafted in 2022. I always hoped against that “Buffet of QBs” idea. I never thought Belichick would go the path of the late 1980s early 1990s Pats (pre Bledsoe). It is so nice to have such young promise at QB. I thought even drafting one could turn into the Buffet. The way most College Programs system‘s are not compatible with the Pro game drafting QB’s these days is a crap shoot. With the Patriots always picking mid to lower in the round I did not have much hope. I agree, if they went the route they went with Stidham, select a QB in the 4th round or later, then yeah, it would’ve been a QB Buffet. Unfortunately the quality in that Buffet isn’t very good. It’s rare you get a Kirk Cousins or a Dak Prescott very often. Going back you Dak, when the Pats drafted Brisett in the same draft, I was wishing they had selected Dak instead. Oh well. Interesting. I guess this means whoever wants him faces a big dilemma, sign him off waivers and accept the hit next week, or let him go to FA and negotiate based on what he expected to get paid. Well played.
...
Thus, if he’s claimed on waivers, he gets the remaining salary and the roster bonus from his new team. If he becomes a free agent, the Browns are on the hook for the remaining salary but not the roster bonus.
It’s believed that the roster bonus is in the range of $3 million, which would put the salary in the range of $4.25 million.
If claimed on waivers, Beckham gets it all from his next team. If unclaimed, he gets his remaining Browns salary (but not the roster bonus) plus whatever he gets from his next team for the rest of 2021. And he breaks even if he gets the amount of the roster bonus as salary from his next team.
As the source explained it, Beckham took the deal because Cleveland could have converted the balance of his remaining salary to a signing bonus, reducing his base salary to the minimum and making it much more likely that he’d be claimed on waivers by a team for which he’d rather not play. That was, at the end of the day, the leverage the Browns had to get him to agree to a structure that will help the Browns save some money.
The Browns will save, at a minimum, the amount of the roster bonus. If someone claims the contract on waivers, the Browns will save it all.
Who did you want before the draft with the Top 5 QB’s. How about 7000 receiving yards and 51 receiving TDs? N'Keal Harry could play for 20 NFL seasons and he'd never reach those numbers.Pardon my ignorance but what is the big deal about OBJ? .Other than that acrobatic catch he made when he was with the giants(a game which they lost btw), i really see him as a overhyped player who got all the attention because he made that catch and played for nyc.
