There were great moments with Jamie Collins. Judy never blocked an Adam Vinatieri field goal like this:
That’s exactly the kind of play that made dumb fans like me overrate him.

I do
Collins blew plays in this defense.
About 1 month ago when the whole world predicted Josh Gordon to New England. When was the last time anyone correctly predicted any in-season NFL trade by anyone?
There is always a way to make cap space.
At one time Jamie Collins was the Pats best LB if not the best player on the defense.
And maybe give us an additional draft pick from the browns to take him back.He would have to restructure his deal and take less money.
And Lynch on the wheel route in the SB .Collins lost Owen Daniels on seam routes in the 2015 season AFC title game....TWICE.
He's got sloth like quicknessCan he rush the passer???
Jamie Collins is the epitome of a player who was overrated by both team and fans because of the obsession with measurables over actual play.
"Jamie Collins is the epitome of a player who was overrated by both team and fans because of the obsession with measurables over actual play."Fixed.

I agree with your take on overvaluing measurables and would add "media" as well as fans overvalue it. However, I'm curious in what way the team overvalued him? I assume you're referring to overvaluing him in the draft? Otherwise, given the hoopla from fans and media regarding JC, the team demonstrated they didn't value him. No?
Hindsight is 20/20 -- and a virtue for Internet posting -- yet that we got a third round for JC (ummm, or was it a fourth?) was fortunate.
My position on Collins is not hindsight. You can go look it up, if you choose.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell has created a trade proposal that would send the former second round pick back to where his career began in exchange for a seventh round choice.
