Yes, I get it, but list all of the previous 10m dollar bonds that were set over the years for famous athletes. If you remove the denial of bail, a bond this high is practically unprecedented.

A true story: back in the '90s employed as a newspaper reporter I was covering a criminal case in Boston federal court. The prosecutor was a woman I had to get info from pretty much daily. Into the second week after being there every day I noticed her eyeing me sometimes during the proceedings, which kind of weirded me out. Then one day out of the blue she walked up to me and asked my age. So maybe there really is something different about women in the legal profession. I know for a fact that female medical students/doctors are a different breed entirely.

I don’t get why NFL players like him and McCoy make a big deal out of a 10K Rolex. That’s chump change for people like them, especially McCoy. If they are having issues with their ex GFs, just give them the damn Rolex in exchange for getting out of their lives...that’s what I would do.

I’m a businessman and not a lawyer, but it seems (at least on the face of it) that they’re throwing the book at him here, but there’s a chance that it could get plead down to a lesser charge. Any chance of that?

I’m a lawyer (not criminal though) so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. There’s always a chance the prosecutor could agree to the lesser charge of second degree attempted murder, which is 9 years jail time in California. I agree, based on what we know so far, the attempted murder charge is a bit much. Prosecutors often charge a defendant with multiple crimes in an attempt to later on reduce the charges to the real crime when the defendant asks for a plea deal in exchange for a confession. They’ll act as if they are doing the defendant a big favor.
