whatever your opinion is politically the NFL needs to come up with a better plan. sure they can wade through it now if one team gets it and reschedule the game.

but what if guys on 6 teams get it? cant reschedule 6 games. I like the idea of a localized bubble
I think the bubble would be ideal but logistically, with all 32 teams playing, it’s all but impossible. Playoffs is probably where they’ll implement the bubble idea.

I’d love to have the metrics on NFL testing, how many have been done, what’s the false positive %, what’s the actual positive %, what is the player positive % versus coaching staff % versus other team staff %.

Just for fun, let’s explore the following : does the TV $ still roll if six teams get shut down for a week ? If a few coaches and personnel die off ? If reschedules happen and even a few games are forfeited ?

If the answer is « yes », then the 32 are fine with it. The TV money is very, very important. The reschedules and Covid cases, not really that important to the 32. I’d even venture that the only things the cases really affect, for the 32, is negative PR.

Money. The owners (and players) love that stuff.

Correct. There is nothing but the TV money. Absolutely nothing else matters to this league.

Then putting large numbers of players indoors or forcing them to get into planes after they slobbered all over each other for 3 hours should increase the risks, but the numbers don't show that.
Planes recycle the air with external air about every 5 minutes, so there is a good chance that if keeping people fairly safe while traveling. Keeping infection to a very small localized area only. It's why when one person has the flu in a place the entire planes doesn't get it

If not they could put screens on the windows or at least let the passengers crack them open a smidgeon.

This is less than ideal for them with the Bucs coming to town in 4 days.

In the Starting Line-Up
The wheels may really come off with this one. No way the NFL can force the Raiders to play with a completely second string (at best) offensive line. If some practice squad tackle whiffs on a block and Derek Carr gets concussed or his leg broken there will be a media sh*tstorm.

If the league made our team fly to KC and refused our request for a bigger locker room space - the Raiders will be playing on Sunday with a second string OL. Good luck to them.

The Raiders have now lost their primetime game because of this. Seahawks/Cardinals is the new SNF game, while Raiders/Bucs will be in the later afternoon slot. The NFL doesn't want to risk not having SNF because the game gets postponed.

NFL will not want to potentially expose the Golden Boy team (Bucs) to a major Covid outbreak. Raiders’ O line is quarantined due to contact tracing, could be cleared morning of game by instant tests. But what if morning of game testing shows multiple infections? Does the league risk infecting TB by playing?

Not sure where the "Other Teams Covid thread" went so putting this here.

LOL. Florio really loves getting on his soapbox about league punishment.

How would TB get infected by the Raiduhs OL? Even if he was, the events of 2014-2016 show that the NYFL doesn't give two craps about Brady. For $ome rea$on it'$ the game that their worried about.
