I agree, and I think that's a problem for most rookies, not something unique to Mac - you just get hit harder and more often at this level... I would expect them to really emphasize playing safe and throwing it away, and leaning on the running game, in the early weeks to try to keep him upright. And, obviously, young QBs have shown that getting hit a lot early on can shake them long-term (see: Sam Darnold)Yeah, he's very serious about the "ceiling". Also, he's got a lot of concern about Jones' readiness to take the NFL pounding.
I find the first point silly because, outside of certain dealbreakers (absolutely no arm strength, complete inability to process information after having been spoon fed all the way through college, etc...), no draftable QB's "ceiling" is ever really known for sure early in their career. But the second point is legit, IMO.
I'm extremely excited about Mac but I also don't think he's gonna step in and be Brady 2.0 from day 1. It's gonna be a process and there will be a lot of growing pains. I'm already pre-emptively annoyed by the hot takes that will inevitably happen in the game day thread when Mac isn't perfect. To say the least.
I was as objective and on point about Mac as anyone and got stalked for months.
We should have a cheerleader forum for the homers.
I'm a panthers fan, I've always liked the pats though. Of course I'm a cam supporter, but I couldn't support him on this. It's not even a vaccine vs anti-vaccine discussion here. Cam had it last year and it hurt him and the team. Cam made his decision and Bill was right in his decision to not deal with that BS this year and move forward. I'm pretty sure that broke the camels back

Like it or not, it's always gonna be a part of the story: did Cam cost himself a job by not being jabbed?Guys, please take the vaccination talk elsewhere.
Not to be mean but she looks a tad too full bodied. I enjoy her though.Jason Taylor’s sister is smoking hot! She is the only reason I watch Cowherd!
I already heard posters calling him "Baby-Arm Jones" It'll be real in here.I agree, and I think that's a problem for most rookies, not something unique to Mac - you just get hit harder and more often at this level... Which measured whether or not Mac Jones arm was quote unquote weak as is now going to be the go to meme for any single missed pass, interception, and slower than normal utilization of chopsticks during team meals at Benihana.I was referring to the ongoing peer reviewing on the Israeli study
How could he make the decision before he had even seen Mac in a preseason game? When Mac had only been in the system for a few weeks.THIS.
It should have been Mac from at least July. We knew what we had in Cam. We should have given Mac a LOT more 1st team reps and given him a better opportunity to be successful in his rookie year.
I believe it's the right decision, but overall poorly handled by Bill. He CLEARLY should have taken this decision a month ago. There's NOTHING Cam did wrong in the preseason to cause this. Bill should have decided at least a month ago that he's seen enough from Mac to make him starting QB and told Cam or released him. The preseason did nothing to bring this decision on.
Hopefully Mac thrives anyway but really he should have been made starting QB a month or two ago.

Just like Jeopardy, but that‘s a whole other topic…..As the dust settles, it occurs to me...
I once met someone who worked as an "interim rabbi." Her job was to go to a synagogue where a long-time, beloved rabbi was retiring and take over for a year while they conducted a search for a new permanent replacement. The gap year was deliberate. The idea was to give the congregants a chance adjust to the old rabbi's departure, so the new rabbi wouldn't have to fight against a tide of direct comparisons, resistance to change, and feelings of loss.
Many thanks to Cam Newton for being our interim rabbi.
