Cam sorta clears the air on his Maye take. I think.

I’m not watching that video. Thank you everyone who gave an update.
I started it and then realized I didn't care to see it again.

I know the clip above is supposed to show Cam quitting on the fumble recovery, but the more I watch it, the more I realize that #67 is coming in at knee level... Maybe, just maybe Cam saw this cruise missile about to bend is knee sideways and just GTFO of that scrum for a second? He did dive in after #67's helmet quit coming in at him...
It was a stupid move, not a ****y move. He was trying to pick the ball up instead of going for the recovery.

It's the 4th quarter of the super bowl.

Yeah that was his explanation.

He said he should have dove on the ball anyway and I agree. Not sure if he was trying to pick it up and run with it instead. If so I can’t imagine why he would think that’s a good idea.

Yup, and I'm bangin Nicki Minaj.

You know how some people who suffer traumatic events suppress the memories of them as a coping mechanism? Well, every day for 5 years now I've tried to suppress the knowledge that this idiot was our QB for an entire season. Now, somewhat fortunately for me I, and the rest of the world was going through some **** during that year so I didn't watch much of that season. But still.

I love BB and will always appreciate what he did for this franchise, but seriously what in the name of God was he thinking trying to replace the greatest to ever do it with this overrated egomaniac?

As much as the rest of you hate Mac Jones for trying his best and just not being good enough I hate this guy (Who Jones beat out for the starting job if y'all recall) for not trying his best and also not being good enough.
Dude had two 300+ yd games, and Maye has yet to have one. Edelman had his highest yardage game with him, not TB12. During his Pats year, he was established as a "1st in last out" kindof guy who lived in Foxboro and worked his ass off and was the opposite of an egomaniac - saying that his WRs (for multiple starts were ALL UDFAs and Izzo was the best TE ffs) were good enough and didn't give excuses. Imho, if he had started instead of Mac with all of those new weapons (like actual TEs) and McD still calling the plays, he would've been better than 10-7.

Edit: For all the talk about Cam's shot arm, his longest air yard completion that year was 2yds longer than Maye's longest one so far in the NFL. Plus his completion % was the exact same as TB12's during the 2018 SB winning season.

I'd like to see these keyboard commandos tell a dude who is 6'5", 245lbs that he is a ****y...

Thought id share this too, Richard Sherman hits the nail on the head here imo. I get people pausing a little on us because of the schedule but fools good is a bit strong. It might just be the homer in me but it feels like Cam has some sort of axe to grind with ne these days for whatever reason, Pretty much every take hes offered on us has slanted negative. Thats very weird for a 10-2 team. That said i still don’t believe he has any real beef directly with Maye and that part of it has been overblown

It's because Maye is being successful where Newton wasn't.

Cam sucked but this post is unfair. He tried, he was just washed up physically. Could still do some power runs but he had none of his trademark elusiveness anymore. And his arm was shot. He was a GREAT teammate. That roster he led was a disgrace. They punted on the season to preserve cap space for the next year and just took their lumps with a ton of dead money. He was constantly propping guys up. Remember how bad NKeal Harry was - all Cam did was encourage him. Jakobi Meyers talked about how Cam behind the scenes was a huge factor in pushing him for his breakout that year. All he ever did was put on a good front and be encouraging for the team. 100% solid person and teammate while he was here. The disdain Pats fans have of him either comes from just not liking his personality/how he dresses or pure entitlement and being spoiled by what preceded him here.

I have seen high school quarterbacks play better than Newton did.

nice share. Sherman is very eloquent compared to what i think of him as a DB / his prior on-field personality.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Why does anyone give a **** what this guy has to say about anything?

You all know that I love Mac Jones, but for those of you who don't: this is the guy who got beat out by Mac Jones.

BY. MAC. JONES.

I guess ***ante has moved on from feuding with Bill to Cam lol

That has to be the first time in NFL history a pass for literally minus 10 yards was picked. Way to go Cant

This is how I remember Newton, he was awful.

I think ESPN likes this kind of nonsense, this kind of buffoonery. Just think about some of the “talent” they’ve hired in the past. They like the nonsense these guys bring.

Asante is right. Cam was a mediocre passer aside from 2015. Strange how NE lost to his teams twice in 2013 and 2017.

All of these guys are just saying all of this for this for clicks

You have a better career in the NFL media saying stupid things, if Cams argument for not being a game changer is you can't overcome the worst coaching in the league then no quarterback in NFL history is a game changer.

If you give any quarterback the worst coaching staff and terrible defense and special teams they aren't going to be able to win a Super Bowl i think everyone with common sense knows that.

The whole thing i would class as a game changing QB is he can take an average roster and consistently make them a playoff team.
