Brady and Maye dynamic, a theory:

I love Tom Brady the Qb. I don’t like Tom Brady the person very much, even aside from this latest stuff.

I don’t see anything wrong with that, but I’ve always rooted for the laundry and players only matter to me while they are here.
Your first line sums up my feelings very well, although he does still matter to me.

I love the guy. I don’t really like him, though.

Brady is owner of a rival. This is a non issue that we are turning into a drama show.

Favorite athlete ever, big if he never played for the Patriots and was my neighbor I don’t think I’d hang out with him.

Part of it is what he said:
If he said, “I am an owner of the Raiders, so that’s my team” it would be taken differently.

“I don’t have a dog in the fight” means I have no preference for either team. No one believes that. You don’t spend 20 years with a place, win multiple championships, leave under difficult circumstances, and have a statue put up and remain position neutral. Maybe you are rooting for them, maybe things ended so badly you are rooting against them, (but you know that would sound petty so you keep it to yourself)- but you are not without an opinion.

He realized how stupid it looked, and changed his tune on Instagram.

I agree, but I am also a firm believer in never hanging out with neighbors.

Brady isn’t part of the Pats organization. He’s a part owner of the Raiders. What kind of “relationship” is he supposed to have with Maye? On his best throws of the year he picked Maye 2X, but outside of stuff like what else do we expect? I thought he fumbled the no dog in this race comment. But if the Patriots wanted Brady to be part of the organization ongoing, then some type of limited ownership deal should have been offered. It wasn’t and now he’s a Raider, which sucks.

The issue is. It would’ve created such controversy because all the haters would’ve said that the reason he took below market deals was because of back door deal was promised to him for ownership after he retires. True or not it would be low hanging fruit. I think it would’ve been better offered for him to coach.

I thought that him posting that on Instagram is a bad look because you are actively rooting against the future HC of the team you have ownership.

Brady is about the optics in this and I do not believe he wants the Pats to win. Would an owner, minority or not, came out and say I hope the guy we picked to be our next HC loses the biggest game of his career? I do not think he would

Aside from all of thought he is not currently part of this organization so why does anyone give a **** what he thinks.

I would rather he came out and gave a prediction based on football facts. Seatle this and the Patriots that

Brady would never coach, that’s a 12+hour a day job. He had a lot of other interests.

Brady leaving to Tampa for years would have squashed the back door deal thing. He had to finish career somewhere else because he couldn’t get a deal done here. The much more likely scenario is that the Kraft family wouldn’t give him a deal like the Raiders would.
