It's an interesting conversation for where Wentz finishes. After all, there were many last year that felt Brady was worthy despite being suspended the first four games. Should Wentz be out of consideration for missing the last three games?

It would FEEL like you should vote for someone who is still playing, but I suppose Wentz still deserves consideration for his body of work in 13 games.

If the Eagles lose the rest of their games and the offense becomes inept, then I would give it to Wentz

I know you probably meant "subpar statistically" since that's what MVP voters care about, but Brady was good in the Bills game. He completed 70% of his passes and his yards per attempt was higher than it was in all but 3 other games this season, including the 4 TD game right before it. The 0/1 touchdown-to-interception ratio looks bad but the interception wasn't his fault and they didn't need him to throw touchdowns.

I was looking at it statistically. I'm personally not faulting him for a performance where the Pats won by multiple scores.

Up until this point it has been the Brady vs Wentz show! Yes Brown has been getting a lot of MVP love as of late. Still and all I don't see a player (a WR at that) with a late surge at the end of the season getting the MVP award! It doesn't work that way

His stats through the last four games have been absurd and can be compared to any of the great WRs in their primes. He won't get it (this is really a QB or a RB award), but he deserves any votes he's getting right now.

Jerry Rice came in 2nd in MVP voting twice, for the year where he scored 22 TDs on 65 catches (lost to Elway), then for the year with 122 catches and 1848 yards (lost to Favre).

And, yardage-wise, Brown is on pace to surpass any of Rice's seasons as a pro except for maybe the season where he hauled in 1,848 receiving yards.

I think Brown gets it if he plays a huge role in a Steelers win Sunday. Brady needs another signature ( four td, 400 yard game) to get it imo.

Listening to the radio on my morning drive, it is very clear that there is a desperate search ongoing for a non-Brady to vote for. Even somewhat relatively level-headed guys like Dan Patrick are desperately seeking a non-Brady to back. It is just bizarre, like they think that Tom kills puppies and hunts white rhinos in his spare time, or something. Thanks, Goodell.

Tom Brady now heavy favorite to win NFL MVP
FOXBORO -- Even with Tom Brady's struggles in Miami on Monday night, it didn't seem to impact his chances at winning NFL MVP.

According to Bovada LV, Brady currently is a heavy favorite at 5/8. Antonio Brown and Russell Wilson are next at 6/1, but Brown was 33/1 last week. A good case could be made for Brown if the Steelers were to beat the Patriots this week and earn the No. 1 seed. If the Patriots in fact get the No. 1 seed, then Brady likely has the edge.

Carson Wentz went from 2/1 odds before his injury to now 15/2.

In terms of Super Bowl odds, the Patriots are still the favorites at 11/4, which is down from 12/5 before last week. The Steelers are next at 4/1, following by the Vikings at 15/2

Rodgers had a worse game vs the Bills in 2014 (week 15) yet still won the MVP.

Brady (233 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 24/43, 20 points, 59.5 rating)

Rodgers (185 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 17/42, 13 points), 34.3 rating)

Rodgers followed that up with 1 TD, 0 INT, 318 yard game vs Bucs, and 2 TD, 0 INT, 226 yards vs Lions.

Brady needs a solid outing this week and I think it’s his to lose. Kinda hard to fault him for not having Gronk, Edelman (granted it’s been the entire year), and throwing to a not-ready-yet Hogan. Cooks and him really haven’t gelled like they should be, so otherwise he’s throwing to whatever running back is in there, Amendola and Allen (gag).

He’s doing a heck of a lot with what he has, and the defense has been a work in progress all year.

Two poor weeks in a row and he’s still only thrown 6 picks all year.

One poor week

Tom Brady of course. He's worthy of the honor once again, and I am a complete homer. That is all I need.

Oh, there's absolutely massive Brady fatigue out there. From another national writer (written before the Miami game):

"With Carson Wentz injured and Russell Wilson coming off a clunker, the MVP race could boil down to Brown, who always gets overlooked because wide receivers get overlooked, versus Tom Brady, who always gets overlooked because no one wants to give him an award he will let his kids use as a paperweight while players on 31 other teams clamor for a little recognition."

You would give it to Wentz for missing the last 4 games of the season? ON the other hand you have no problem with Brady getting jobbed for the MVP award last year because he missed the first 4 games of the season through no fault of his own? I don't get it.

Personally, I believe the MVP is an award for the best player the entire year. That player right now is Tom Brady. He needs to play 3 more solid games to finish out the season but he is clearly the frontrunner to win the MVP award now.

I think Brown gets it if: They beat NE & hes a big factor; Brady continues to struggle the rest of the season; Wilson struggles and/or Seattle misses playoffs.

Wilson: Seattle makes playoffs; finishes with more td passes and yards thrown than Brady. Brown doesn't go off the remaining three games.

Brady: Finishes with more td passes and yards than Wilson; Beats Pittsburgh.

Beat Pitt and I think Brady gets it convincingly. Like I said before he is a 40 year old QB doing things that no 40 year old QB should do, his stinker on MNF notwithstanding. I agree re Brady fatigue but the voters know this might be their last real chance to vote for a Brady MVP season. He is having a historic season. None of the other credible MVP candidates are.

And - perhaps the league will nudge them to do it, hoping Brady will look back on his time fondly and not be say...compelled to write a book to get a few things off his mind such as bad commissioners and phony cheating scandals. Cough.

I mean if the Eagles took a complete nosedive, i could see him still being in the argument despite the injury. Its a little different than Brady because Brady missed 4 games with a suspension.. granted it was over complete and total bulls***, but it was enough for the media to rule him out

Wentz was having a great year, it was really impressive for a 2nd year QB and he seems like a very likeable person.. he would probably be ahead of Brady statistically in touchdowns and interceptions if he wasn't injured

I would vote for Brady for MVP at this point, assuming he doesn't have 3 more clunkers like the Miami game to close out the year
