It’s not Jordan Richards? :)

I’ve been going back-and-forth on this but now I think it has to be Mahomes.

The only compelling argument I can think of against him is that his team tended to lose some of the biggest Chiefs games of the year like the Pats and Chargers and he contributed to those losses.

But that won’t matter as much as the numbers he put up were sick and they had to be as his defense is absolute garbage (which is why they will not come out of the AFC).

I’m thinking he will get something like 48 out of 50 votes. Decisive.

Mahomes runs away with the honor

+1000 yd passing vs Brees
+18 TDs vs Brees
+240 yds rushing vs Brees (19 1st downs on the ground vs 11 for Brees)
Chiefs +61 points scored vs NO....compensating for Chiefs -62 point defense compared to NO

Not even close

Brees had an incredibly efficient year....but statistically average for him in the big categories (excluding wins). Let's also factor Brees reliance on pass catching RBs (Brees completed 50% more passes to RBs than Mahomes) boosting his completion % decisively. And I personally believe dome QBs deserve asterisks next to their inflated completion %'s.

Mahomes has elevated KC to a stratosphere Alex Smith never could
Leaped the elite in the AFC gaining #1 seed

It depends on if the chiefs crash and burn again in the playoffs ... because if they do, then it’s a lipstick on a pig instance ..... he will have gone no further than Alex smith

It’s not like he’s a savior of a crappy team.....chiefs have been 1sr or 2nd in the afcw for 6 years

If they win it all, then they would have done it in spite of Andy Reid and in that case he wins hands down

I agree that Mahomes will now get the MVP (and I previously voted for Brees).

I think Mahomes iced the MVP yesterday. Sportsbooks were moving steadily throughout the week and Mahomes was around -200 before yesterday's game. I saw one tweet but could tell if the date was before yesterday or after the Chiefs game that Mahomes -333. All the sports writers seem to be in consensus that a 50 TD, 5,000 yard season while leading your team to the #1 seed will overcome the sentiment (and very strong season) for Brees.

The MVP voting ends before the playoffs

New Orleans barely beat the lowly Steelers at home, they are no lock to advance past the Divisional either.

This is a wide open tournament and I love it

Mahomes easily. One of the best QB seasons of all time.

All-Pro Team votes

Mahomes 45
Brees 5

These are the same voters as the MVP award. Mahomes is the MVP.
