Who's out there that's going to fix it? Do you just want to throw money at it and pray?
There were dozens of free agents available this year that would have made this team better.
You said they had to choose because of limited resources. They didn’t come close to using their resources.

They did try to spend on WR. Got rejected multiple times.
If they got one they would still have 40 million unspent.

Look at this roster. There are deficiencies at almost every position or unit.

I dunno about screw it up. I think they had to choose what holes to fill based on available assets. FA was not deep at OT, and there was many holes to fill on this roster that offensively was bereft of talent. I think it was clear that they wouldn't fix it in one off season.
I believe they did a great job managing the roster. They know the offense line was an issue.. but other than that I can't be mad at them. Identifying guys that will be part of the rebuilding culture.. and drafting the future. Maye is everything to what they want to do this season and beyond.

Ain’t we lucky we got ’em.
Gray was a 3rd round pick for the Dolphins who looked good in camp.

Shula released him.

I think Pats were first in the claim order.

You won’t get so lucky again. Now a team would trade him to someone further down the claim order and recoup something.

Wonder if the Pats kick the tires on the following:

Boston Scott - RB
Alec Lindstrom - OC - (formerly of BC)

Good for the Patriots. Means that they'll get a credit next season.
What's the league minimum for someone at his position and seniority?

Good Times.

It was a veiled reference to the theme show for an old television show.

You are joking right?
What parts of the roster do you feel they significantly upgraded over last years 4 win team, aside from hoping draft picks assigned to them work out?

Can you try and find Andy Johnson’s credentials? They / Them were more optimistic about the team. Thanks

FA is not limited to offensive players. There were a lot of defensive players we could have signed, filled defensive needs, and continue to build our defense into a top 10 D without needing to draft many positions on defense in the 2025 draft. FA is for whole team building - not plugging holes. Building the team before holes appear allows the team to have to resources necessary (like top draft picks for LT and WR#1) without neglecting other team needs.

You are missing the forest for the trees.

Facts are facts.

I don't know, that's really the key, isn't it? Is someone else's castoff better than what's in house? I kinda doubt it. I don't think there's that much great line play in the league that I guy who's 8th or 10th on one team is 5th here. Just my opinion. I think everyone is in the same boat. Starters are starters. Scrubs are scrubs. The Pats don't have enough starters, but are someone else's scrubs better than in Foxboro? Maybe. There's too many scrubs in Foxboro.
I don't know. But Washington is not a good team and their backups looked better than our starters. Leads me to believe that it's a legit possibility that there will be upgrades available, however small.

Remember when the Pats got Leon Gray on the final cutdown?

Good times!
Back in the Stone Age. I had an old tape with him and Hog Hannah--wow could they run the ball....

How would you like to be a linebacker and see Hannah coming toward you in a sweep? You are going to die:

I remember hearing that Hannah's thighs were 32"
