Despite playing a harder schedule (hurts, tua 2x, allen, herbert) and starting two liabilities at CB the defense has played admirability when they'd could have quit at any point being tied to a historically bad offense. There is a lot to work to do offensively but the defense will be pretty good with judon & gonzalez back. The pats can be competitive next year by surrounding a rookie qb with an average supporting cast IMO.

@Ian and anyone else wondering about Gillette attendance today: people didn't take their seats until shortly before kickoff because of the rain. I'd estimate the lower bowl about 40-45 percent full, upper deck was pretty sparse, I'd say 25 percent tops. (I didn't post from the game due to rain/soaked gloves.) Persistent cold rain all day, pretty miserable conditions matched by miserable offense.
Tune I hope you had a couple of beers atleast.

Uh.....Bill had a 4 time Pro Bowl QB with multiple playoff wins and a Super Bowl appearance, but wasn't playing well going 5-13.

Have fun coming up with a rebuttal on that.
It was 2 games into the season.

Prior year was a complete rebuild, jettisoned top players like Terry Glenn, brought in guys to hold the fort like Anthony Pleasant. They finally got the guys in place.

You're elevating to new heights of being disingenuous, which is surprising even to me.

He's going to find something from 20 years ago it might take him a while though.
Holy cow, another absolutely deluded poster who just started watching in 2000.

I hope the new Brass just takes the L with Juju's contract and eat the dead money. Juju is a total loser and lost cause he's done.

What is normal? That feels higher than it looked like.
Paid attendance will always be about that number due to all games are sold out before the season starts. At the beginning of the game I looked around and saw some pockets of empty seats. At halftime I looked around and thought wow I’ve never seen this many people go to the bathroom or concessions at halftime, well most of them weren’t going to bathroom or concessions, they were heading home. After halftime there were so many empty seats.

You came back quicker than I expected I rest my case your honor against the BB rebuttal expert. I am still mailing you a BB engraved Hanky at years end cry us a river.

They don't get to half those super bowls without Bill, I get it, the team sucks, not fun to watch and its ruining our Sundays but lets give the man his due.
and you know this why and how?

Tune I hope you had a couple of beers atleast.

I appreciate the sentiment but I don't drink beer at games, especially in cold weather. Had one afterward, though.

Reid coached up some average QBs to play very well. It's not all about Mahomes.
You're kidding right? Michael Vick and Donovan Mcnabb were both Pro Bowl level talents, Vick selected 4x and McNabb selected 6x. Both QBs but especially Michael Vick were the prototype for dual threat QBs who could both run the ball and throw the ball.

If Michael Vick was playing in today's NFL where the defense isn't allowed to do anything remotely close to hurting the QB, he'd put up video game numbers that would easily compete with or beat Jalen Hurts numbers.

Reid has had the privilege of working with VERY GOOD QB talent. It's just that Mahomes was the transcendent one that finally allowed him to break his "playoff curse." Reid is literally the dictionary definition of this coach was made by his elite QB.

Patriot fans that deny what happened in 2001 are not real Patriot fans.

I think it will be the Skins (refuse to call them Commanders because it’s stupid).

Brings his life full circle, owner is pretty hands-off

Giants unlikely to fire Daboll, don’t see Bill in Cali at this point in his life.

Panthers won’t trust him with Young (nor should they), now a darkhorse would be Buffalo firing Mcturnip. Bill may be able to put that team over the top before he screws up the roster

I think you at this point you have to consider letting go of: Bill, BoB, Troy Brown and Klemm. Bring in someone new with his own guys and see wtf happens.
The HC and offensive coaching staff need to take a hike.

Maybe Klemm could get another year to prove his worth if we get him some new toys
