Here’s what Will Campbell had to say during his press conference on 7/26/2025:
On what it’s been like so far for him:
“It’s been awesome just getting up here, getting back in the swing of things. Just really looking forward to what’s to come.”
On what he did from the time OTAs ended up to the time he came back, and if there was something he walked away form OTAS with where he said, “I’ve got to nail this down,’ or ‘I’ve got to work on this:
“I won’t get into any specifics, but we have exit meetings after OTAs. Me and the coaches talked about some stuff. Just keep working on and just try to get better at everything. Whenever you’re a rookie, there’s not a lot that you’ve seen. So you’re trying to just get better in every way, shape, and form that you can to help this football team.”
On when he said he was looking forward to what was coming, if that included the first padded practice on Monday:
“I mean, it just means everything. I’m super blessed be here, be a part of this team. Just looking forward to the first padded of practice, the season, what’s to come, basically what I meant, but just excited.”
On what he’s learn so far going up against Keion White:
“Oh, yeah, no doubt. Keion is an extremely talented guy, and I’m just super fortunate to have a guy like Kean. But not only him, guys like B-more [Christian Barmore], Milt [Milton Williams], KC [K’Lavon Chaisson], Harold [Landry], A lot of those guys have played a lot more football than me. Anything that they can help me with, give me tips, and things that they see that I’m doing that can help my game and just help me get better in any way, that’s what a rookie asks for. So I’m super fortunate to have that.”
On if there is anyone of those guys who has given him more, wither it’s Milton Williams, somebody constantly talking to you:
“They’re all great dudes. If I go ask, they’re going to tell me, and vice versa. If they were to ask me something, I’m going to tell them. It’s just the culture we’re trying to create around here, just guys helping each other out. They’ve been super good to me.”
On how much he’s leaned on someone like Morgan Moses:
“I’ve said it before in an interview. I think whenever you’re a rookie, you just hope to go into an organization with a veteran who you can lean on, who has played so much ball, has so much knowledge, and can teach you so much. Me, Jared, Marcus, Jack, Mikai, all of us rookies are super fortunate to have a guy like Morgan, Big Mike, Garrett Bradbury, guys that have played a lot more football, like I said, than we have. Anything that they can give us to help us take that next step is super awesome. But Morgan, He’s been really good to me.”
On if his rookie class has developed a chemistry and if he’s one of the tone setters:
“I think we have a great culture as a rookie class. I mean, you live in a hotel together since we got here in the spring, so we’re always around each other, stay longer in OTAs after the veterans left. I definitely feel like we have a great group of guys that are hungry and eager to work. So, it’s been awesome so far.”
On the fact Jared Wilson seems like a good dude:
“Yeah, Jared’s great. We trained together pre-draft, so I got to know him there. He’s a great guy. He’s a hell of a player.”
On what it’s been like developing chemistry with three different players on his side:
“It’s something I knew I would have to do when I came here. At LSU, I played next to the same dude for three years. So stuff like that doesn’t happen very often. So I’m the new guy. Cole and Caeden have been here, so they’re developing chemistry with me. I’m the new guy trying to get in and learn what they do. So just anything we can do each day to get better and take the next step each day is something we’re trying to do.”
On the fact Morgan Moses said the other day while he was mentoring him that he pushed him to get better, and how that makes him feel:
“Like I said, it’s super cool, but he’s got so much knowledge that I hope I’m just fortunate enough to play as long as he has. I just hope one day, when I’m a veteran, that I can have the impact on young guys like he’s had on me.”
On the fact Garrett Bradbury mentioned he needed flashcards to try and learn this offense, and what it’s been like for him and how has he been doing it:
“It’s been great. It’s definitely a lot more than college, if that’s what you’re asking. But it’s been great. Our coaches meet with us a lot to make sure we have a great understanding of things. That way, when we come out on the field, we’re flying around and have a good grasp for things.”
On if there’s anything specific he can ask for that he’s been working on in any area of the system:
“I’m a rookie. I got a lot of stuff I got to work on. I’m just trying to get better in every aspect of my game every single day.”
On the fact Jared said that he keeps asking Morgan what the secret is of playing in the state for so long, and if he’s told him the secret:
“I mean, if you could be over there in our little huddle after practice, Morgan is a man of words and wisdom. He gives so many little points that can take you as far as you want. But like I said, he’s been very good to me. On the field and off the field. So one day, I hope I can be like that.”
