OT: Dolphins Owner Steven Ross Suspended, Picks Forfeited, For Tampering With Brady, Payton

As further punishment, the Dolphins should have to sign Tua to a massive multiyear extension.

Oh don’t you worry, if he’s even halfway good they’re stuck in the exact situation Arizona was just in.

He did an interview with Howard Stern in 2020 saying he knew he was gone that past August.

FFS so Parcells is just as repsonsible as Brady for winning the 6 Super Bowls?

Some of this fan base has truly become a nut house the last couple years and it’s sad.

Parcells was responsible for the Patriot's getting viewed as a legit NFL team after years of being a joke and almost leaving the area. Perhaps you are too young to remember.

The key point is that discussions didn’t just occur after the season ended, rather that they occurred while the season was ongoing, as early as August 2019. That’s the issue being brought up here.

Apparently for some that’s okay because we didn’t lock him up to a long term deal before the season started?

The punishment for Ross is appropriate. Could it be more? Sure. They overlooked the Flo tanking ask but whatever.

I've never viewed Tom negatively for wanting to leave here. He had enough just like Bill had enough but it doesn't make what Tom did right or appropriate.

However I do have a problem with him meeting Ross before the start of the 2019 season - his last one here. Maybe Tom knew 2019 was his last here and I get he wanted to find a new landing spot sooner than later. OK fine. The real issue I have is it potentially compromised any opportunity for Tom to stay. What if BB/Tom/Bob didn't reach some kind of understanding back in February/March of 2020 because of what Ross told him? In the end I don't think the Ross meeting pulled Tom further away but it sure didn't help the Patriots who at the time had his rights, was under contract and had some negotiations (if you call take it our leave it a negotiation) with Tom.

In the regular world, people interview for jobs all the time while employed. My guess is that was Tom's point of view. I get it. Could this be perceived is disloyal to Bob? Yep but Bob wasn't exactly providing motivation for Tom to stay.

I think it would be fair if the Fins were forced to give up a pick or two to the NEP. You don't ***** with another team's franchise QB under contract.

I will not call Tom a traitor but what he did does have a sleazy feel to it.

Adam V missed 2 of his 3 FG attempts in Super Bowl 38 dude.
And made the one that won the game in regulation.

Thats all. No pressure there.

Timmy?

As for Toamie, seems he was definitely flirting...

This gets juicer and juicier...

What does this say about Brady, though.. If he kept entertaining their calls...

Don't have time to read the whole thread so 'scuse me if somebody already posted this: I want to see Don Shula's reaction live. I want to see that self-righteous full of **** twit have a mic shoved in his face for his reaction. But he will have no comment because he's a hypocrite

Goodwill cancelled by his super bowl week antics.

Not excusing it because I am disappointed, but apparently Brady and Beal are boys. So entertaining calls from a friend?

Well on one hand the Patriots organization very much wanted Bill Parcells to stay and he instead bailed. On the other hand the Pats refused to give Brady a contract extension when he asked for one in February 2018 after Garrapolo had been traded and he said he wanted to stay. And then again after he won the Super Bowl a year later. Hmmm yes the situations are exactly the same.

Very simply…. He asked the Patriots to give him a longterm contract. They refused. He then agreed to sign a short term one and negotiated a no strings attached free agency after.

The ball was in the Pats court. Brady gave them every opportunity to ensure he stay. That was their chance to secure him. You don’t get to complain after you passed on that opportunity that he started talking to other people about a future you weren’t interested in locking down when you were the only suitor.

This jilted fan stuff. If you are upset, be mad at the team. The reason Brady isn’t here is because he wasn’t signed longterm when he was asking. Not the Dolphins when he was on his way to free agency.

This isn’t even like Parcells where the team was left high and dry suddenly and embarrassingly. There’s only one reason a guy negotiated a no strings attached free agency in his contract. Pats gave it to him so they didn’t need to commit
very simply... Fredo was actively talking to the ownership of a team starting in AUGUST before the season starts... about leaving... No one else was doing it.

and you are right ... this isnt even like Parcels... This is worse than what Parcels did

It's still hard to establish reliable connections with Hell.

He may not comment for another reason as well

You are aware that Belichick (and Kraft) refused to give him a contract that took him past the current season in August 2019 which as laid out in the report is when the tampering then began?

The Pats never refused to give him a contract in 2019. They offered him just a 1 year deal to take care of 2020. Brady wanted a 3 year deal and the Pats refused. This is well documented so I'm not sure why you are thinking otherwise.

Ok so he negotiated a short term contract with a no strings attached free agency AFTER. Doesn’t mean he’s ok to start his free agency DURING the entire season. If he would’ve met with teams after our season ended, cool no problems. But essentially starting your free agency in August. Makes Tom look like a slimy dirtbag. And even more so for attempting to maneuver his way out of Tampa.

Question. Will the pick they lose be their pick in 2023 or the lowest first round pick between their pick and the pick they got from San Fran? Because if Trey Lance is a disaster his first year starting, that might be their lower pick.
It's their own pick, not the 9ers. That is spelled out in the NFL's statement.
