Pretty much. I’m saying the first charge didn’t actually effect us. The second does actually effect the Bucs.

We did not have Brady signed. The Bucs did. We were losing him. He was maneuvering to subvert the contract.

It’s like if you and girlfriend are breaking up and she says “listen we know this is done, but I’ll stay with you through the holidays since we made all these plans with our family and I don’t want to embarrass anybody, then after we will quietly break up”. Shouldn’t the player who is willingly engaging with other teams when he is under contract be punished too?

I am assuming that there was a non-compete clause in his contract. I assume the Patriots might be able to go after Brady for money. I don't see Kraft doing that though because it would look like a bad and petty look.

In the past, the league has not given picks to aggrieved teams, but has mandated pick swaps. IMO a reasonable penalty would be the LOLphins get the Pats' 2 and NE gets their 1.

Hard to argue that this didnt have an impact on any potential offer the Patriots could have made when you know you have a landing spot already lined up, with your agent saying "look, i think we got Sean Payton on board as well"... that upsets the scales beyond the tipping point, and creates a very difficult & decidedly unfair situation for the Patriots to be in...

And Tom did this - Over the course of the season - Multiple times. How you cannot be ****ing ripshit at him for these dealing is beyond imagination

Very simply…. He asked the Patriots to give him a longterm contract. They refused. He then agreed to sign a short term one and negotiated a no strings attached free agency after.

The ball was in the Pats court. Brady gave them every opportunity to ensure he stay. That was their chance to secure him. You don’t get to complain after you passed on that opportunity that he started talking to other people about a future you weren’t interested in locking down when you were the only suitor.

This jilted fan stuff. If you are upset, be mad at the team. The reason Brady isn’t here is because he wasn’t signed longterm when he was asking. Not the Dolphins when he was on his way to free agency.

This isn’t even like Parcells where the team was left high and dry suddenly and embarrassingly. There’s only one reason a guy negotiated a no strings attached free agency in his contract. Pats gave it to him so they didn’t need to commit

Owners are expressly forbidden in the CBA and their league agreement. Players are not.
