OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I'll never understand why Bill moved on from Brady. I don't care how many reasons people try to tell me it'll never make any sense. The guy just put up his best back-to-back seasons at ages 43 and 44 and we just let him go for pennies on the dollar.

Foolishness and ego.

BB is a bit of an ageist. You start getting up there in age and he screws you over.

But players have caught on.
Brady wanted a minimum of 2 or 3 years more, Bill would only give 1. So he left.
Gronk wouldn't allow himself to be traded to the Lions.
Amendola decided he had enough of taking a pay cut.
Gilmore held out so that he can get 1 last big payday.

I don't think BB will be able to get players who are still in their prime to take a home discount anymore.

Mike Evans said he hit his funny bone on the pass where he went over 1,000 yards receiving for the eighth straight season. His hand went numb but he’s ok.

I had the volume down all day, watching some games, playing with the ESPN machine scenarios.

I never even realized the Colts actually missed the playoffs. When I went through their odds last week, before they played the Raiders, I figured they were like 99% likely to get in. And then when I saw they were losing big to Jacksonville, I just assumed they were resting their players of half-assing the game. LMFAO...what a bunch of losers. I can't believe I missed the joy of watching them melt down.

Mike Evans, asked which he is more proud of between his record 14 TDs or getting 1,000 yards for NFL-record eight straight years to open his career: "I like both, but I'll take the NFL history ... that's 1-of-1."

Mike Evans on getting to 1,000 yards again and getting 14 TDs in a season: "To break my own records, it's a true blessing."

Arians says only injury in game today he's concerned about is Cyril Grayson's hamstring -- not sure how bad that is, but others, like Jamel Dean, don't look to be significant.

Rob Gronkowski jokes that in hitting $1 million in incentives today, he understands he'll have to take his tight ends out for dinner, maybe the quarterbacks except for Brady, coaches as well. "Everyone's expecting a little handout."

Bucs' 13-4 record matches Packers for the best in the NFL this season. Those two also had the two best home records in NFL -- Bucs went 7-1, now get two playoff home games before potentially going to Green Bay, which went 8-0 at home this season.

Strange but true -- Bucs' leading rusher tonight is ... receiver Scotty Miller, who led the team with 43 yards on his two carries, including a 33-yard touchdown.

Rob Gronkowski finished with 137 receiving yards -- his most as a Buc and most in any game since 2017. He has 252 yards in last two games, the fourth-best two-game stretch in his NFL career.

Schedule is out -- Bucs will host the Eagles at 1 p.m. Sunday in the wild-card weekend.

Point Spreads:

Philadelphia +8 at Tampa Bay
San Francisco +3 at Dallas
Arizona +4 at LA Rams

After seeing today's game, I would want no part of San Francisco. That defensive front dominated the Rams, and they're peaking at the right time. I know a lot of people clown on Jimmy G., but I've never bought into that. The guy may not carry the team on his back, but he's not some bum either. I could see San Francisco knocking off Green Bay; there's no way the Rams or Cardinals will.

Dallas is a really tough out too. They're top 5 in offense and defense by most metrics.

AFC point spreads aren't out yet. I expect the Patriots will be 3-4 point underdogs at Buffalo. I foresee a historic curb stomping when Pittsburgh goes to Arrowhead.

Philadelphia +8 at Tampa Bay?

Bucs -21 and I’d still bet them.

I think the fact he went to Tom to talk to him after the week 4 game tells me he regrets it. He knows it was a legacy altering mistake letting the relationship deteriorate to the point Brady said no mas.

If the 49ers beat the Cowgirls and assuming the Bucs take care of the Eagles, 49ers go to GreenBay and thats the worst possible matchup for them.
