There's a new-ish area now available, which finally went live this morning.

It's called LinkHub, where you can share links, images, memes, videos, social media posts, etc.

I initially built this eight or so years ago, and I've spent the last couple of months revamping it. It's sort of like Reddit but it's focused primarily on being an area for all of us to share links, videos, memes, fun things, etc.

This did exist for a bit previously. So if any of you had any links saved from the older version(s), all your info should still be there. Bringing it back was inspired by both @Tunescribe and @Pape, and it's meant to be a place for people to share things that don't necessarily warrant a thread here, but this finally gives all of that stuff a place to live.

Some key things to know:

  1. You can save various links, creating your own library of things you want to keep.
  2. You can pin various links on your sidebar, allowing you to save links in a prioritized area.
  3. You can create a "Read Later" block. This is for articles/links you see that you don't have time to read now, but you might want to read later. It's an easy way to temporarily save it and read it. If you want to keep it after you read it, hit "SAVE", otherwise, just "mark it read" and it drops off your reading list.
  4. Reacting and commenting is available, and you'll get notifications of replies and reactions in the Community Hub block next to your inbox in the top navbar here, otherwise there's a dedicated notification on the page itself.
One other thing, there's a New Sidebar:

I updated the sidebar on the left to make that a little more useful. It now has quick links to share a link or post a thread, as well as making your thread bookmarks quickly available. There are also quick buttons to key things like editing your avatar, signature, security preferences, etc, along with quick buttons to access being able to see who you've mass-muted or blocked, along with seeing threads you're ignoring, etc. There's also a block that will display newly added links.

On mobile, this block will move to the bottom, but you'll be able to toggle back and forth between both sections.

A couple of final things to note:

  • Not every link will populate the image/title, etc. Due to all the bot traffic sites (including this one) are dealing with, things have become a little more stringent there. But you can update/change the title if there isn't one, so be sure to do so.

  • I've imported a lot of the links posted in the forum, so many of you should see some links you've posted previously available. There is a search function, which should hopefully make things fairly easy to sift through.

Give it a go and play around with it, and obviously let me know if you spot anything.

When I go the pats forum it keeps taking me to this spot, can’t get to the forums. I’m on a Mac, am I doing something wrong?

Refresh - that should be fixed. Noticed the left bar was appearing at the top rather than wrapping below on tablet, and I just made a modification for that, which I believe should also fix this.
